Chapter Thirty Three: A Trio In Mourning

There is chaos everywhere as The Ranger continues its attack on  Soto's ship however everything seems like a blur to Gwen, as she is lead by Ashley and Akra across the deck of the ship and to the Milano. Though when she comes back to her senses Ashley has already strapped her into the plane seat, and is taking off to which she unbuckles herself and rushes to the cockpit as she quickly speaks. What are you doing? no Ashley we can't leave mom she's down there we can't leave her we have to go back, we can't leave her there with him we have to go back we have to fight. Though Ashley remains silent to which Gwen protests again that they turn around to which Akra, then gets up and holds her back as Gwen starts tearing up to which she then places an arm on her shoulder as she then speaks. Gwen no its too dangerous to go back there that ship was sinking fast from the cannon fire, but I'm sure that your mom wasn't on it when it sunk its not safe. Gwen soon becomes angry at this to which she then shoves Akra aside and continues to protest that Ashley turn around, to which she then turns her head quickly before she then speaks. Gwen your mother gave me strict instructions to get you out of there and that's what I intend to do, there's nothing that we can do the battle back there its out of our hands all we can do is keep moving. However as Ashley says this Gwen soon becomes enraged as she hits the side of the plane, as the two remain silent to which Gwen notices this as she speaks again. I can't believe this! I can't believe you two mother is left there with that monster and we are just going to leave her!, no not with that bastard! we are not just going to flee she could need us she could need me but we are running away, leaving her to face that goddamn bastard alone the same one who killed John and god its all my fault. Gwen starts tearing up as Ashley then places the Milano in auto pilot and silently gets up, as she then walks up to Gwen before she then kneels down and embraces her tightly. Gwen then no longer being able to hold it in then melts into Ashley's hug and starts to sob loudly, as Ashley kisses her on the forehead while holding back tears of her own to which she then speaks softly to her. Gwen look at me it is not your fault for what happened do you hear me? none of it is, Soto did this and he will pay but we have to be strong now we can't let his death be in vain we just can't. Ashley then continues to hold Gwen in her arms as Akra then bows her head to which Gwen starts to calm down, as she then wipes the tears from her eyes and then speaks. No we can't let John's death be for nothing and it won't be he died believing, that we would find father and that's just what I'm going to do no matter what it takes. As she says this Ashley can see the former sadness in Gwen's eyes replaced by rage, to which as she straightens herself in her seat she then clenches her fist as she then speaks again. That is my promise as well as this Soto will indeed pay for this by my hand I will kill him myself for John, he was my family too and he fought and died protecting me and I couldn't save him but I damn sure will avenge him. Akra then lifts her head at this to which she then nods her head in approval, as she now understands that Gwen is now certain of her goal as she then speaks. I can agree to that to kill somebody like that in such a brutal way that is something that only a monster can achieve, and a monster such as that needs to be put down and Gwen I will gladly help you. Gwen then nods at Akra's words to which Ashley also seeing the determination in her eyes then also nods, before she then sits in the pilots seat before she then speaks again. Goddamn it me and him had been through it all we served together for years but even he knew he couldn't do it forever, John wanted out and he got out as clean as an Assassin  could but we brought him back into the fight and now I've lost him forever, Gwen I too will help you take him down whatever it takes for he's taken too many lives but no more. The two ladies then place there hands on Gwen's shoulder to which she too nods at them both, before taking the pilots seat before she then takes out the piece of paper Boris gave her as she speaks. And the mission continues as we have our next heading before he died, Boris gave me these coordinates his last act was pointing us to where we needed to go in the end all he wanted to do was help us and we didn't even trust him. Ashley impressed by this then takes the co pilot's seat next to Gwen, as Akra straps herself in to which Gwen takes control of the plane Ashley then speaks to her. John wouldn't have wanted us to give up he would have wanted us to keep going strong so we must we're so close now, we owe it to him and all the others that Soto has killed we have to stop him and for that we will need your father's help. With that Gwen then agrees with Ashley's words before she takes control of the Milano, and flies them to their next location, with the hope that they are all the more closer to finding Slade.
