Chapter Fourteen : James and his hut

The trio had followed James to his hut while also keeping their eyes close to the old man in case he  betrayed them as he spoke again, not much farther just right over this bend here he said to which Gwen silently nodded. After about ten minutes the group had reached James's  hut which looked severely run down and decrepit as he then sighed, Ah home sweet home James said to which both John and Ashley looked confused. You live here this place is a dump? John said which produced an annoyed yet modest grunt from James as he replied, Ha well we can't all have those fancy houses you Assassins have can we? James said alarming the whole trio. What we aren't assassins I don't know what your talking about Ashley said to which James chuckled, Come on inside I'll explain everything there he said before leading them in. Surprisingly the inside of his hut was nicely decorated with vast paintings covering the walls, and several old swords and other relics lining the floor as he had cleared a place for them to sit. Oh do please have a seat you all look tired as can be James said, to which Gwen sat down with Ashley sitting next to her as John spoke. If it's all the same to you I'll go keep watch outside make sure there aren't any surprises he said before letting himself out, to which both Gwen and Ashley remained with James as he spoke again. I bet you are wondering how I knew you all were Assassins eh? he said to which Gwen nodded as he continued, well I used to be an Assassin myself once I was on the Scottish Assassin Order Recon Team or the SAORT I was... well when I was a bit younger James said to which Gwen looked surprised. I've read about the SAORT squadron before they were the best at the time of the fourth winter war, she said to which James looked surprised before speaking again. Well you sure do know your history but alas sadly with almost all the world under Templar rule seems that all us Assassins are mere history most days everything is gone. Its not all gone James there is still hope Ashley said to which James sighed to which he looked out the window before replying , I do appreciate you trying to cheer me up lass but  there is just no hope now some folks even talked about Slade Bolin. Pure sheep fodder that is Slade is just a myth told, to make them people believe in something  while fighting for a botched cause . Ashley looked at James who poured himself a drink before she spoke, Slade isn't a myth James she said to which he chuckled before drinking. Sure he is I have never seen any proof of his said existence nobody has really, granted there was a time we all used to believe in said stories but that time has passed. Your wrong James hope isn't lost Gwen said to which James looked at her as he spoke, Oh really now lass? now how would that be so? James said getting up to get the tea kettle. Well I am Gwen Bolin daughter of Slade and Jade Bolin she said to which James laughed, Ah lass good one your just pulling me old leg you are James said to which Ashley spoke. She's not lying James Gwen show him she said to which Gwen drew her sword and showed James the inscription on the blade, to which as she showed him James's face shifted into a stunned and serious expression as he glanced at the blade. The fabled Bolin seal? but it can't be real unless.. by the Gods you aren't lying, you are....he is real all this time he has been real? James said sitting down shocked. That is why we are here  we are looking for a key that matches this one , they will form a master key that will lead us to a vault hopefully containing something. Anything that could possibly reveal where he is a clue, Gwen said showing James the key shards to which he sat back still stunned before replying. If Slade well your father I suppose, if he returns he could shift things in our favor I mean like a lot lass, he might be able to even end this Templar ruled world James said fixing his glasses. That's why we need your help James finding my dad before they do, is our only chance at restoring peace and order to the world if you know anything at all you must tell us you have to help us. Don't worry I'll help you okay? now if my old memory serves me I did see a strange key that looks similar, to this one in the old castle ruins to the north of here but if your going there I'd be cautious. Old place is falling to pieces at the seams and is even rumored to be haunted haha James joked, before marking the location down on Ashley's map. Gwen getting up bowed before James to which surprised him as she spoke, thank you James this means a lot to us more then you know Gwen said to which James chuckled. Ah its nothing lass but you can really thank me, when your Pa  comes back and brings the heat to these damn Templars. Smiling  Gwen hugged James before Ashley bowed before him and they both left as outside the hut John was sitting on a nearby rock, cleaning his gun when Gwen and Ashley approached to which he got up. So did the old man give us anything useful? John joked to which Ashley laughed, oh yes he did look here this spot on the map he said there are ruins there and In those ruins lies our third key Ashley said showing John the spot. Hmm I'm sure you two can retrieve that key sounds easy enough after all, me I don't feel right leaving The Millano unattended here like this so I'll head back but if you girls need me you have your radios John said to which Gwen responded. Sure thing John we'll be quick as can be she said joking to which John smirked before speaking again, oh and try not to die will you? we still have a job to do can't very well do it when your dead now can ya? He said to which Ashley tapped his shoulder as John then kicked a stone before heading back to the Millano, as Gwen and Ashley looked on the road ahead of them before she spoke. Well just us girls now huh Gwen? Ashley said placing a hand on Gwen's shoulder. Yep lets go get that key one step closer to you dad we're coming Gwen said to herself, and With that both Gwen and Ashley began to make their way to the ruins to find the third key.
