I walked in to my room, to find Leah sat on my bed. Her presence calmed me immediately, as I ran over and hugged her tight.

"What's up Holl? Talk to me please."
Leah said, as she slightly pulled away from the hug.

"Lucy and Keira are getting closer than friends. I can see it. I just thought my best friend would have more respect after Lucy cheated on me. Even manipulated you. I just thought I meant more to Keira than that."

Leah gave me a sympathetic look before she spoke.

"Holl, it's shit. It really is. I didn't think Keira would do that either. You can't get distracted now. You also can't play with either of them in the state your in. It's a tricky one isn't it love."

"Chloe said she'd help me talk to Keira. I think I need to do it before the match. Before it wrecks things."

"That's a really good idea. You want to text Chloe now? She can come up here then you can go look for Keira together."

I pulled out my phone to text Chloe. At this point, I'm holding back tears. It's the hardest thing I have to do. I never in a million years thought I'd be having this talk. Especially with Keira. We've known each other for years, we go back ages.

Chloe came into the room 10 minutes later. I spent a little time with both of them before we went to find Keira. Leah gave me a small kiss goodbye after whispering,

'You're so strong. You can do this Holl.'

This nearly sent me into tears. I knew I had to be strong. I had to be.

We found Keira playing Fifa with Lucy, with her hand on Lucy's thigh. As soon as my eyes clocked this, I could feel my feet start to take steps backwards. Chloe grabbed my hand, gave me a kiss on my forehead before slowly walking me over them both. She let go of my hand before letting them both know we've there.

"Can we borrow Keira for a minute?"
Chloe said, a stern tone in her voice.

As soon as Keira and Lucy heard us, hands returned back to themselves. Both faces had a guilty look, as Lucy turned to make eye contact with with me. She gave me a half smile.

Keira walked outside with us, sitting on a bench slightly away from the entrance. Chloe sat in between us both to make me feel more comfortable.

"Do you have any reason why we want to talk to you?"
Chloe said, holding a long contact with Keira.

"No I don't. Why are you looking at me like that? What have I done?"

"Keira what the fuck! You and Lucy? We've both seen how close yous are getting. The touching? The flirting? Everyone's seen it! Literally everyone!"

Keira looked over at me.

"You wanna add anything? If you cared so much why aren't you talking?"

Chloe grabbed my hand at Keira's comment. She was about to speak until I gathered the courage.

"I thought we were best friends. I genuinely thought we were. But then I realised best friends don't flirt all over a manipulative, cheating ex without telling the other person. You know first hand the affect Lucy had on me. Every single time. You knew. Yet you still find the need to flirt with her? Worse part is you didn't tell me. Why didn't you tell me?"

Keira was speechless. I've never seen her like that. In my years of knowing her she's always had something to say. When she did speak again, it was timid.

"But that was a while ago when she cheated and-"

"She may have cheated on me a while ago but remember her manipulating Leah? That wasn't that long ago. Don't make excuses with me."

"I think you should go. You've made enough excuses tonight. Go snuggle up to Lucy."

Keira walked off, her head in her hands. I couldn't believe how it went. I can't believe she tried to make excuses. That was the worst bit by far. The excuses. They kept replaying in my head. I thought she was my friend. To hell, my best friend. Now we're not talking. Strangers some would say.
