Zed POV

I stood there for a bit, my hand on my cheek, 'I new there was some kind of spark' I said to myself.

"Okay, Welcome to football tryouts. As you know, this town is a cheerleading town, 'cause this town likes to win and our football team is awful, so we are not gonna win this year and I'm probably gonna lose my job." Coach said. 'That's depressing' "Good news for you though," Coach continued, "You all made the team. Whoopee.". "Yes, I made it!" I exclaimed. "Except for the zombie." Coach added.

"What?", "Principal Lee said you guys shouldn't even leave the basement. She didn't tell you?" Coach said. "No," I lied, "Don't think so. I think I would've remembered that.", "Come on. Just let me be on the team." I pleaded, "Can't have a zombie on the field. We'd look like a laughingstock, and besides, I'm no trailblazer. Y'know I'm more of a follower. Actually, I'm not even really good at that. So..." Coach said. I scoffed and walked away, not wanting to be there anymore.

"Football's stupid anyway." Eliza said, after I told her what happened. "Thanks for the pep talk." I responded, sarcastically. "Y'know I think that human likes me." I continued. "The one who kissed you, no way I had noooo idea." Eliza said, sarcastically. "Listen Zed just be careful, humans are horrible." She said, pointing at graffiti on the wall reading "No Zombies".

"Things need to change."

Riley POV

"Good luck, Addie!" I said, before walking back to the bleachers. Addison's trying out for the Cheer Team and as a super supportive BFF I'm rooting for her. 'I swear to god if they start singing, I'm walking out.' I thought, unfortunately the gods decided to not listen to me today.

After, that whole fiasco, I walked down to where Addie and Bree were. "Congratulations, guys!" I said, hugging them both.

"Thanks, Riley. Ugh, I'm so happy to be on the cheer team!" Addie said, squeezing me a bit too tight. "Okay, okay, that's enough." I said, strained. "Sorry." She said. "Let the cheer initiation begin!" Bucky yelled, 'He's planning something, he always is.' I thought. "I'm coming with you both tonight, I've got a bad feeling about this." I told Addie.

~~~
"Every year for cheer initiation we like to remind zombies that we don't accept freaks in this town." Bucky said as we drove into ZombieTown. "That includes you, Riley." Tracey whispered to me. "Look who's talking, at least my hair doesn't look like an onion." I whispered back, leaving him looking at a mirror in distress. Bucky handed Addie and Bree a carton of eggs, "Egg that house and you'll officially be on of us." Bucky said. "Addie you shouldn't do this, do you know how much trouble we'll be in if we get caught?" I said. "Shut up, freak.", "BUCKY!" Addie yelled. "You look lost." A zombie lady said, causing Bucky and the ACEYs to drive off screaming.
She looked at us suspiciously, until I spoke up. "Listen my friend's dumb cousin wanted us to egg this house. Sorry for all the trouble, we'll leave. Have a nice night." I said. "Well thanks for not going through with it." Someone said behind us. The zombie lady walked back into her house as Me, Bree, and Addie turned around to face Zed. "O-oh hey, Zed." I said, remembering the events of today. "Have a nice night, you three." Zed replied, walking back towards his front door. We all started to walk back home until I heard Zed whisper my name.
I turned to face him, apparently Addie and Bree didn't hear, just for him to wink, blow me a kiss and walk back into his house. I stood there, blushing like crazy, until Addie noticed I wasn't following them and told me to catch up.
~~~

The next day me and Addie decided to walk down to the basement to invite the zombies to the pep rally since we still felt bad about last night. "Woah, woah! There's no human students in the basement." Their teacher told us. "Look we just wanted to invite you to our pep rally today." Addie stated. "Zombies don't do pep rallies." A zombie girl, who was standing next to Zed so I assumed she was his friend, said.

"Oh, okay." Addie said, glumly. "We'll think about it." Zed assured, giving me another wink. With that I smiled back at him and me and Addie left the room. "I see you, Riles." Addie told me. "What?", "You really think I didn't see him wink at you?" She clarified, making me put my hood over my head in embarrassment.

~~~
"Of course Zed's not coming. I mean zombies at a pep rally would be serious drama." Addie told me, as she was getting ready. Suddenly, Bree exclaimed, "There are zombies in the pep rally!". "They wouldn't dare." Bucky said, "We'll it looks like they did dare." I replied.
I walked out of their dressing room and joined Zed and his friends on the bleachers. "Hey, Riley." Zed said, flirtatiously. "Gross." His friend said. "Hater." Zed replied. I chuckled and moved over a bit closer to Zed. 'I hope nothing goes wrong this time.' I thought.
'Why must I jinx things.'
