Riley POV

'They know that zombies have a past with fire.' I thought. "Don't worry about it. A little fire's not gonna hurt us." Zed assured Bonzo, who was panicking. "FIRE!" Bonzo yelled, pushing Zed out of the way as he tried to leave. "Zed, you good?" I said, crouching down to see if he was okay. "Yeah, I'm good." He said, getting back up. I noticed his Z-Band looked like it was glitching out, "Zed is your Z-Band malfunc-" I was cut off by Zed, groaning. "Woah dude, what's happening to you?" I said, referring to how his veins were popping and a deep purple. The bags under his eye seemed to spread, 'Oh wow, he got hotter-', Ugh what is wrong with me?!

We both looked don to try and see where Bonzo went, when we saw him run through the guys who ere supposed to catch Addie. "Addie!" I yelled, Zed ran past me and pushed some jocks out of the way just in time to catch Addie, 'Looks like his Z-Band was reset.'. "Oh my god! Addie are you okay?" I said, running down to give her a hug. "I'm okay, Riles." She assured, "Thanks for catching me, Zed.", "No, problem." Zed replied, with a smile. "You! Me! We gotta talk!" Coach said, pointing to Zed.

Zed POV

"He went through my offensive linemen like they were scrawny freshmen!" Coach exclaimed. "Principal Lee, I can explain." I said, standing up. She stopped me, "Coach wants you on his team." She clarified. "Really?", "Yeah! With a monster like..." I gave Coach a look, "Monster player like you, we can turn the football team around. And with fan support maybe I can keep my job, move out of my parent's basement, get a cat, get a gym membership, turn it all around. It sounds so dreamy. I need you on the team, Zed!" Coach said, desperately. "Uh, okay, can you just give me a second to think about it." I said, "Yeah, sure it...it's cool." Coach responded.

"I can only agree if there are some changes. Full integration for all zombies." I said, "Oh, excuse me." Principal Lee started, "There only one little problem. You haven't won a game yet.", "That's a mere technicality." I said back, "Could you throw my star player a bone?" Coach said, "Not literally.". "Okay, look, in good faith, I will allow zombies to eat in the cafeteria and once you start racking in those wins, then...we'll talk about those other demands. All right?" Principal Lee said. "Yeah, deal." I responded.

Riley POV

"Hello, students. This is Principal Lee. As you may have heard, the zombie students are now allowed to eat in the cafeteria." Lee stated, over the loudspeaker causing most of the cafeteria to groan. "Ugh, just deal with it." She added.

The zombie students entered the cafeteria and I immediately scanned them to see if I could spot Zed. I saw him sit down with some of his friends, he looked so cute. "My heart's racing and my palms are sweaty." Me and Addie said in unison. We looked at each other and she knew what I was thinking. "Zed's girl friend." Addie assured, "Okay, good." I responded.

"Hey, Riley!" A voice called for me, it was Zed, and he was waving me over. "Well, I can't be rude." I said, getting up.

As I walked towards their table unluckily for me I had to walk past Bucky and the ACEYs. "Makes sense they know each other, freaks have to stay together." They half whispered, obviously wanting me to hear. "Ignore them Riley, you're beautiful." Mom's word's echoed through my head. "Hey." I said, sitting down at their table. "Thank for catching Addie again, also why did Coach wanna talk to you?" I asked, "He wanted me to join the football team!" Zed answered, enthusiastically. "That's great!" I said, hugging him.

"Okay, why is he here?" His friend asked. "I just wanted to talk." Zed said, giving her a mean look. "What's your name?" I asked her, "Huh, uhh, Eliza." She answered, "Well nice to meet you." I said, holding out my hand for her to shake. She hesitated for a bit, then shook my hand. "Sorry, if we got off on the wrong foot. By the way, I love your outfit." I said, smiling. "Oh, really? Thanks!" She said.

Me, Zed, Eliza, and Bonzo all had a blast talking to each other. "Hey, Riley, come on follow me." Zed said getting up. I followed him out of the cafeteria as we walked into the zombie safe room. "This is where we first met." I said, then I remembered the past events. "L-listen, I'm sorry for what happ-" I was cut off by Zed crashing his lips onto mine. It felt nice. The kiss started to get more and more heated as Zed pinned me to the wall.
