It Is Time

Vanna POV

I woke up, still feeling tired, and heard my name being called. "Vanna! Wake up!" I heard Vincent yell from outside my room. I groaned, got down from my bed, and opened up my door. "Oh my. You look tired. I take it you didn't get much sleep?" Vincent told me, grinning. "I'm not in the mood for your bull, brother."

Vincent laughed and told me, "Well, get dressed and meet us all outside." He then walked away.

I got dressed and before I went outside, I decided to talk with Mom and Dad. I knocked on their door and heard mom say, "Come in."

I walked in and walked up to my sick parents. "Hey guys." I said, "How ya holdin' up?"

"We've had better days." Dad joked. He always did have time for jokes, no matter the moment. I chuckled and then told them, "Listen, I-I...I think I can...promise to not h-hurt anyone for the moonstone."

Both their faces lit up. "Wonderful news, honey." Mom smiled, "I'm glad you two agreed."

"Actually...It's just me...and Vance I'm pretty sure." I explained. "Well, try to convince your brother, okay?" Mom asked. "I'll try." I nodded. "We love you, Vanna." Dad told me, before I walked out. "I love you both, too." I said, bore walking out of their room.

Wyatt POV

"I still can't believe you actually trust them!" Wynter shouted. "All because your precious lovers told you to!"

"Wynter..." Willa said, before getting cut off, "Don't. I can't believe you two!" She growled, punching a wall and leaving a big crack. "Wynter...This isn't about us trusting vampires...Is it." I said, knowing how lonely the she wolf had been feeling lately. "I-I...it's just not fair..." Wynter sobbed, sitting down and hugging her legs to her chest.

Willa and I sat next to her, to try and comfort her as she continued to rant. "You have A-Spen, Addison has Eliza, Bonzo has Bree...Wyatt you have two lovers and I can't even get one." She whimpered. "There's plenty of fish in the sea, Wyn." I said, "Yeah, it may not be right now, but you'll find someone who likes you." Willa added. Wynter sniffled, "Thanks guys."

Riley POV

Addie and I walked along the shore of the beach. Just making some small talk since we haven't hung out, just the two of us, for a while. The conversations then turned into what we planned on doing for Seabrook's new talent show, but suddenly we both heard an angelic voice singing.

Addie and I looked around for who was singing so beautifully, until we spotted someone perched on a rock. "Hey!" I shouted, causing the person to whip their head around to face us. She had long, blonde hair, pretty pale skin, and...a fish tail? "Oh...uh hello." The girl said, meekly.

"Are you a mermaid?!" Addie exclaimed, her face lighting up. The girl nodded. "What your name?" I asked, causing her to hide behind the rock even more. "My name's Riley." I said, trying to encourage her to talk to us. "And I'm Addison." Addie said. "Um...I'm Madelyn...but most people call me Maddie." She said, peeking over the rock a little more.

"You have an amazing voice." I complemented, causing Maddie to smile, "Th-thanks."

"Who's the person you sang about in the beginning?" Addie asked. "Oh, my dad, the king of our kingdom, doesn't want merfolk to socialize with humans." Maddie explained. "Why not?" I asked. Maddie jumped into the water and re-emerged closer to us on the shore.

"In the past...humans hunted our species. They believed we merfolk made ships crash with our voices. They were wrong however, it was Sirens who caused such damage." Maddie explained. "That's awful!" Addie said and I nodded in agreement. "Listen, my dad is probably looking for me...I gotta go." Maddie said, waving goodbye to us as she submerged herself underwater.

"Wow, new species have really just been rollin' in, huh?" I said, causing Addie to chuckle, "Yup."

Vanna POV

"Mermaids? Jeez is Seabrook a species magnet or something?" I said, as I walked through the town with Addison and Riley. "I know, right?" Addison said. "So...I've been talking to the wolves...and they might be willing to share the moonstone with y'all." Riley said, giving me a smile. This time when I smiled back, it was genuine.

"Hello you three." Vincent said, floating up to us. "Ya mind if I borrow my sister for a sec?" Riley and Addison nodded and Vincent pulled me away from them and around a corner. "I see you getting all buddy-buddy with those people here. May I remind you that we came here for one reason and one reason only. Take back our moonstone."

"Okay first of all," I said, jabbing Vincent's chest with my finger, "Their names are Riley and Addison. Second of all, so what? I can have friends! And I would gladly appreciate if you stopped being such a bastard all the time!" By the time I was done with my rant, a lot of people around were staring. "Get a life, brother." I added, walking back to my friends.

"It was nice hanging out with you." Addison said, as we walked through Zombietown. "Thanks, right back at you both. You guys are fun to be around." I replied, giving another genuine smile. "It is getting late...shouldn't you be heading home?" Riley asked, looking up at the sky. "Oh yeah." I replied, "I'll see you tomorrow?"

They nodded and I gave them a smile before floating off into the woods in the direction of Vampireville. Boy, was I not prepared for what was gonna happen in the span of a couple days.

"Sister." Vincent said, dryly, as I got home. "What?" I answered, annoyed. "It is time."
