Road Trip - Camping

Riley POV

I felt a tap on my shoulder. "Ry, wake up." Someone said. "Mmm, fives more minutes, mom." I said, groggy. "It's Wyatt. Wake up, babe, we're here. You can sleep more in the tent." Wyatt said. "Carry me." I said, not wanting to get up. "Fine." He agreed.

Wyatt picked me up and carried me out of the car, down a path, into the campsite, and into our tent. "Is he passed out?" Zed asked when Wyatt carried me in. "I wish." I groaned, shutting my eyes. "You can put me down now, thanks babe."

Wyatt gently crouched down, placed me down, and wrapped a blanket around me. I then started to drift off again, feeling Wyatt and Zed cuddling up to me.

Vanna POV

'That dumbass.' I thought, getting ready for bed. 'We have better odds just storming the town, but noooo.' I put on my pajamas and walked down the hall to the bathroom to brush my teeth. 'I can't wait to take back what's rightfully ours.' I thought. 'Those, literal, sons of bitches are gonna pay!'

I finished up in the bathroom and walked back into my room. I levitated off the ground and rested my feet on the roof, crossing my arms. 'Seabrook doesn't know what's going to hit them.' I said to myself, shutting my eyes.

Riley POV

I woke up alone in our tent. I reached for my phone and checked the time, "Damn, it's two?"

I sat up and stretched before zipping open the tent flap and walking outside. As I walked out I saw Addie, Eliza, Zed, Bree, and Bonzo sitting on some logs beside an unlit campfire. "Good mor-afternoon." I corrected myself. Addie chuckled and they all greeted me back. "Where's everyone else?" I asked.

"The wolves went out to get fuel and food, and the aliens wanted to come with to 'experience Earth's ecosystem'." Eliza explained. I nodded and sat next to Zed, placing my head on his shoulder. We all made small talk, waiting for the others to get back.

A few minutes later the wolves and the aliens emerged from the forest, the werewolves looking great as always, but the aliens...not so much. A-Spen and A-Li had sticks and leaves poking from their hair and A-Lan had claw marks all over his body. "Jeez, what happened to you guys?" Bree asked.

"The aliens are not as experienced hunters as us wolves are." Wynter said, placing some sticks down to start the fire. "Yes, your earthly wilderness did a number on us..." A-Lan admitted. "I never want to do that again." A-Li uttered. "It was all pleasant until we ran into that bear." A-Spen sighed, sitting down next to Willa.

We all sat around our newly made fire and the wolves started to roast some of the critters they caught. "Poor rabbit." I said. "Hey, don't feel bad." Wyatt told me. "They taste delicious!"

'"Hey, you weren't wrong." I said, finishing my food. "Told ya." Wyatt smirked. I looked at the time, 3:55. 'Hmm, what can we do.' I thought, leaning on Wyatt. 'Oh!'

"Are there any lakes nearby?" I asked. Eliza pulled out her phone and did some typing, "Yup, about a six minute walk down...that path." She said, pointing to it. "You guys wanna go later?" Addie asked. "Yeah, I was just thinking that." I replied. Everyone else agreed and we waited for everyone to finished eating.

Vanna POV

"Vanna...Vanna...VANNA!" "WHAT?" I screamed at my lousy excuse for a brother. "Get up, it is well into the afternoon." He told me. "Like I care? Let me sleep, you bastard." I said back, shutting my eyes again. "Ugh, fine. Just don't forget to pack your shit. We're leaving in like a few days." Vincent informed me. "Yeah, yeah, just get out of my room!"

Riley POV

About half an hour later we were all ready to go for a dip in the lake. We grabbed some clothes from the bags we packed so we'd have something to switch into when we're dry. All of us made our way down the path and in a few minutes we were there.

I placed my change of clothes, my towel, and my phone on a log and ran towards the water, jumping in. "The water's just fine! Come on in!" I yelled to the others. Addie quickly followed in my footsteps, creating a big splash when she jumped in. Pretty soon everybody was in the water, either splashing around or challenging each other to swimming competitions, the latter was mostly A-Lan.

As I was floating peacefully on the surface, I suddenly felt a tug on my leg. 'What the-?' I thought, before what ever gripped me pulled me under the surface. I opened up my eyes and was face to face with Wyatt's toothy grin. He swam us up above the surface, laughing when we we got a breath of fresh air.

"Why would you do that? I though it was a crocodile or something!" I said, playfully punching his chest. "I'm sorry, Ry Ry." He responded, still giggling.

A few hours later we all dried up, swapped our clothes, and walked back up the path. We all said goodnight and headed into our respective tents again.

"Goodnight." I said to Wyatt and Zed, as we huddled together in our tent. "Goodnight." They said, kissing my cheeks and then each other.

Vanna POV

"Vanna, the crew and I are gonna go out and feed. Wanna come?" Vance asked me. "Fuck off." I said, continuing to play with Skweeks. "Ugh, come on. You can't stay in your room all day and hang out with your winged mouse." He retorted. "Okay, first of all, do you not know what 'Fuck off' means? And second of all, Skweeks is a bat." I said.

"Now. Get out!" I said, pushing him out of my door and slamming it shut. Skweeks squeaked at me. "What? Me? Rude? Never." I lied, "Come on, we can continue playing, Skweeks."

Riley POV

I woke up with Zed's arms around my waist, still asleep, and Wyatt was scrolling on his phone. "Mornin' Ry." Wyatt said, quietly as to not wake Zed. "Morning." I replied, kissing him. "What's on the agenda today?" I questioned. "Well, we've gotta get drivin' again. Probably gonna do that at like...three." Wyatt replied, looking at the time, which was eleven. "Okay." I replied, snuggling into Zed's embrace.

A few hours later Zed woke up and told us good morning. "So what are we doing today?" Zed asked. As if hearing his question, Eliza texted in the group chat:

Eliza: Guys!

Eliza: I got an e-mail, orientation for Mountain College is tomorrow!

Willa: Oh shit, we gotta get moving then.

A-Spen: Okay, we shall back our belongings.

All of us gathered up our things and in half an hour we were all ready to drive. We all got into our vehicles and started the drive to Mountain College.

Vanna POV

"Sister, how ya been?" Vincent said, walking into my room. "Huh? Why do you care?" I retorted. "Listen, I know that Mom and Dad's sickness is worsening. You don't need to push everyone away, though." He said, sitting down next to me. "I-I have no idea what you're talking about!" I exclaimed.

"Vanna." Vincent said, looking at me worriedly. "The coven will always be here for you."

I looked away from him, so we wouldn't tease me when I started to tear up. Vincent did the opposite of what I expected him to do and...just hugged me. "I know, I'm worried for them too." Vincent said, starting to tear up too.

"I don't say this enough...I love you, brother."

"I love you too, Vanna."
