i was scrolling on my phone in billie's room when kennedy called me;

"hey ken. you ok?"

"yeah i'm good, just wanted to see what your up to."

"oh nothing just at billie's house."

"oh are you two busy?"

"not at the moment no. is everything ok?"

"yeah i just wanted to see you."

"oh we can totally hang out when-"

"no aubrey. listen i'm super happy you have found someone to spend time with. i know she makes you happy and i don't want to interfere."

"kennedy your not interfering with anything. wanna meet me at my house? it'll be just you and me."

"if you don't mind, that'll be great."

"ok ken i'll see you in a few. i love you."

i hung the phone up as i got up and met billie in the hall.

"hey bil i'm going home today. kennedy wants to hang out with me, so i told her i'd meet her at my house."

"ok love. have fun and call me if you need me." billie said as she brought me to her and hugged me.

this is the first time im going somewhere without billie ever since the crash. you could say im a little nervous.

billie drove me down to my house and kennedy's car already there. she must've been close when she called.

i walked in and saw kennedy and my dad sitting on the couch talking. as i closed the door they both looked at me, kennedy happy to see me.

"oh my god i've missed you." kennedy said as she walked over to me and threw her arms around me.

"i've missed you more than you think ken." i said as i pulled her tight.

we just stood there and hugged for a minute before we pulled apart and she said, "do you want to go shopping or something?"

"of course." i said as i smiled and turned to my dad.

"well be back soon dad." i hugged him and he pulled a $50 and handed it to me.

"have fun sweetie and be safe." he said as i thanked him and left with kennedy.

"god there's no parking places." i said as i searched the mall parking lot for a space to park.

"i know this place is always packed." kennedy laughed as she looked out the window.

ever since the crash, kennedy refuses to drive with anyone. for some dumb reason, kennedy feels like its her fault cassie and her got in a crash, and she's blaming herself for cassies death.

i miss cassie, just not as much as kennedy does. kennedy and cassie where friends long before i met them. they've been best friends since they where both babies practically, so naturally this is a lot harder for kennedy then it is me.
