"hey finneas, you got everything ready?" i asked quietly in the bathroom so billie didn't hear me. 

"not quite yet, distract her for like and hour, i'll text you when its done." he said as he hung up. 

i rolled my eyes as i opened the door and saw billie waiting in the hallways for me. 

"what the hell are you doing in there?" she asked as she looked past me into the bathroom. 

"what do you mean? using the bathroom obviously." i said with a nervous chuckle. 

"baby you didn't flush." billie said as she smiled. 

i pointed my finger in the air and said "oh thats what i forgot." 

finneas and i have been planning billies 17th birthday surprise for a while, and today is her birthday. 

her mom and dad and finneas are all blowing up this huge bouncy house for little kids. billie loves those things. they are hanging white lights inside, setting it up for billie and i. we are gonna sleep in it tonight. 

"baby let's go back to my house. i wanna see what my brother's got me for my birthday." 

"oh billie wait!" i said as i ran infront of the door to block her from leaving. 

she crossed her arms across her chest and said, "do you know something i don't?" 

i shook my head, "no uhm, you can't go home yet, i'm lonely." i quickly said as i pushed the words out. 

"baby i'm gonna bring you."

billie put her hand on the door knob and i pushed my whole weight up against the door, "billie no you can't-" 

"what are you hiding from me aubrey?" she asked as she cut me off. 

"nothing i promise." i quickly said as my face turned red. 

"you know your cheeks turn really red when you lie right?"

"oh i'm just hot, uhm-" 

"oh i get it." billie said as she put her finger in the air. 

"finneas didn't get me anything, so your trying to make me feel better by keeping me here instead of taking me home." 

"billie we can go to your house in-"

"baby i can't wait anymore. i wanna punch him in his bitch face for not getting his little sis something for her 17th birthday." 

"billie he got you something, he's just setting it up!" i said as i threw my hands in the air. 

she smiled and snickered before saying, "there is it. i knew i'd get it out of you sooner or later." 

i scoffed and rolled my eyes, then said, "keep this shit up and i'm not gonna give you your present."

she put her hand on my cheek and kissed me before saying, "ok i'll be good. i really want your gift." billie said as she winked before kissing me.
