WALKING UP TO THE GLASS DOORS, Delilah's face broke out in a huge grin. This has been her lifelong dream- to be a surgeon, and today is her first day on the job. She felt like she was on cloud nine, that nothing could sour her mood-
"You are rockin' babe!"
-and moment ruined. She glared at the brown-haired frat boy who'd just catcalled her in the middle of the hospital hallway. Clenching her hands into a fist, she was just about ready to give that asshole a piece of her mind when suddenly, a body collided with hers. She was blinded by a head of dirty blonde hair. Wait, dirty blonde? She looked down to see her best friend of 20 years- yes twenty, they had been friends since she came out of her mother's womb.
Meredith Grey was Delilah's first and only friend, they had done everything together. They learned to ride a bike together, went to school together- heck they even had their first kiss together. Granted, it was a complete accident and neither of the two had feelings for the other, their first kiss was a memory both girls hold near and dear to their hearts.
"Come on, Lilah. He's not worth it. Besides, you have been waiting for this day your entire life. I'll be damned if I let a man ruin it for you," Meredith said, pulling the brown-haired girl towards an OR.
As the girls walk in, both are painfully aware of the fact that they were late- not a very good first impression. They hear the voice of Richard Webber, a man that both girls were familiar with. He was good friends with their parents. Although Meredith didn't see him all too often, Delilah still has weekly dinners at his house with her siblings. Richard Webber was like a father to her.

Inside the intern locker room, the pair of best friends get changed, picking the lockers next to one another. Delilah was in la la land, still in disbelief that the day she's been dreaming of since she was in diapers was finally coming true.
"Only seven women out of twenty." Meredith.
"Yeah. I hear one of them's a model. Seriously, like that's going to help with the respect thing?" A voice she doesn't recognise replies.
She finally chips into the conversation, "I bet it helped with the student loans though. Man, being debt-free sounds amazing."
"You're Christina, right? I'm Meredith and this is Delilah," the dirty blonde says.
"Which resident did you get assigned to? I'm with Bailey," Christina asks. Delilah nods her head, indicating that she was also assigned to Bailey. From what she's heard, Dr Miranda Bailey was a force to be reckoned with. She was only a resident, but her presence commands respect, even from her superiors.
"The Nazi? Yeah. Me too," her best friend tells them.
As she was about to speak, a boy who looked more like a puppy than anything else cut in, "You got the Nazi? So, did I. At least we'll be tortured together, right? I'm George O'Malley, uh, we met at the mixer, you had a black dress with a slit up the side, strappy sandals..."
