PLOPPING DOWN ON ONE OF THE SPARE BEDS, Delilah looks at her fellow interns.

"Hey, what's got you all so down? Is there anything I can do?" she asks, taking a sip out of her tumbler. The matcha takes an immediate effect, warming her body and lifting her mood.

"My head hurts," Alex complains.

"Maybe it's a tumour," Christina snarks back.

"Yeah, you wish I had a tumour," he jeers at her.

"Look, I'd rip your face off if it meant I got to scrub in," she confesses.

"We do not wish tumours on our friends!" Delilah exclaims, smacking both Christina and Alex upside the head.

"Hey!" Christina.

"Why did I get hit?" Alex.

Ugh, children.

The rest of the interns continue talking, Izzie complaining that she had to send a patient away. There was a Chinese lady down in the pit who refused treatment, even if she had a huge laceration on her arm. Izzie wanted to treat her, but without the patient's consent, there was nothing she could do.

Meredith comes to them and sits down beside Delilah.

"The police say that they can't send down the crack crime scene guy for hours. So, we get to spend the night with a penis, Lilah," she sighs. Alex looks at her with a grin. Don't even start, evil spawn.

"Alex don't even say it. Oh, what are we reading today?" she asks, looking over Delilah's shoulder.

"An article about Spinal Fusions, it's really interesting. Want to read it, Mer?" the younger girl tells her. Instead of a verbal answer, Meredith just lays her head on Delilah's lap. Ah, so it's that kind of day.

"Who here feels like they have no idea what they're doing?" George inquires. Everyone but Alex- whose ego is as big as the solar system, raises their hands.

"I mean, are we supposed to be learning something? Because I don't feel like I'm learning anything," he continues.

"Except how not to sleep," Izzie adds.

"It's like there's this wall, and the attendings and residents are over there, being surgeons, and we are over here being..." Christina trails off.

"Suturing, code running, lab delivering penis-minders," Meredith finishes.

"I hate being an intern," Alex lets out.

"Don't be so pessimistic, guys. This is just the beginning. Soon enough, we'll have our own interns to boss around, our own surgeries to perform, and all the time in the world to sleep. It's going to be great!" Delilah chirps, trying to cheer them up again.

Just then, they see Dr Bailey walking towards them. Looking at the group of interns expectantly, she gives them all a look. Oh God, it's the mom look.
