"IT'S CHRISTMAS!" Delilah cheered as she raced down the stairs. She wasn't particularly a fan of the holiday, but her family was visiting. The brunette was especially excited to see her dad again. Sure they've called and face-timed, but nothing beats seeing him in person.
Joseph Love is Delilah's number one role model. He's the main reason Delilah pursued a career in the medical field. Ever since he brought her along to one of his shifts, the youngest Love's mind was set. Seeing her father do such cutting-edge surgeries inspired her. It made her want to do the same. However, the innovative techniques weren't what solidified her choice. It was the way her father brought back hope for the family members.
Her father loved to take on cases where the patient's survival rate was below ten per cent. He said it was because those families deserved a doctor who would take a chance, even if it seemed impossible. Though there have been some times when even the great Joseph Love couldn't help, the man didn't let it deter him. He always saw it as a learning opportunity— a chance to figure out a better plan if a similar case came up in the future.
The man always told Delilah that every case has a solution and that she just had to look for it. Even if it seemed completely insane, it could work. If there's a will, there's a way.
The brunette was snapped out of her trance by a series of loud knocks at the door. She gasped, they're here!
Practically sprinting to the front door, Delilah pouted as she saw that it was just Christina. "Wow, pretty girl. Didn't know you hated me that much," the older woman mused. Delilah sighed, "No, Christina! You should know that I love you very much. I was just expecting you to be my family."
Not responding, the Korean made her way into the kitchen, plopping herself down on an empty stool. "I assume you came here for breakfast and not to celebrate Christmas? What about Dr Burke? Wouldn't he be upset to wake up to an empty bed? On Christmas, too," the younger girl teased.
"Anyway, you'll have to wait a while. The dakjuk is still cooking. I woke up a little-"
"How did you find out about me and Burke?" Christina cut her off.
"I have a third eye."
Silence.
Cue Christina smacking Delilah upside the head. "Ow! You don't have to be so violent!" she whined, which only earned her another hit.
"Fine! I saw him giving you coffee the other day," Delilah confessed. She rubbed the back of her head to try and soothe the pain. Christina hits hard.
"What's wrong with him giving me a coffee? Don't you give McDreamy coffee?" Christina pointed out. The younger girl shrugged. "I give him and a bunch of other people coffee. Also, I'm nice. You, on the other hand, are not. Not only did he give you the drink, but you also accepted it. And thanked him. You never do that when I give you something," she explained.
