"WHY DO YOU put up posters for roommates if you don't want roommates?" Izzie complains. She and George had spent the better part of half an hour trying to get Meredith to accept them as their roommates. The dirty blonde shook her head, there was no way she was letting any of them live with her. Well, except for Delilah.
"I do want roommates, we're together 100 hours a week, you want to live together too?" she questioned, raising an eyebrow. Delilah and Christina walked up to the trio, the former munching on a honey nut bar.
"I see you bring bribes now, huh?" Christina asks, gesturing to the cup of coffee in Meredith's hand.
"I need a place to live. My mom irons my scrubs. I have to get out of there." Oh, puppy boy, you're so cute.
"It's not a bribe. I don't think it's a good idea," Meredith says, answering both George and Christina.
"I can put down last, first and deposit," he tries again but to no avail.
"It's totally a bribe." Yep.
"I can cook. And I'm an obsessive cleaner," Izzie tells her.
"No, I have Delilah for that. Her cooking makes me extremely happy, and laundry to her is a stress reliever. I just want two total strangers and Delilah who I don't have to talk to or be nice to, and it's not a bribe. It's a mocha latte," the dirty blonde finalizes, walking away from the group towards the Nurse's station, where their resident currently was.
Finally processing her best friend's words, Delilah let out a squeal of happiness. She had been living in a hotel room for the past week and it was starting to get old. It's not like she couldn't afford it- come on, don't you know who her parents are? But the girl didn't like the thought of having to spend another week at that hotel. The sheets were scratchy, the room service sucked, and there was no working kitchen. She didn't know how she managed to survive there for a week.
"George, you run the code team. Meredith and Delilah, take the trauma pager. Christina, deliver the weekend labs to the patients. Izzie, you're on sutures," their resident announced. She then walked away, the interns following her like a group of chicks.
"Dr Bailey. I was hoping to assist you in the OR today, maybe do a minor procedure? I think I'm ready. Mocha latte?" Meredith asked her, flashing her a smile. Wow, Mer. Didn't know you had it in you. Good job.
The rest of the interns followed her lead, bombarding their resident with their desires.
"If she gets to cut, I want to cut too." Christina.
"Yeah, me too." Izzie.
"I wouldn't mind another shot; I mean if everybody else is..." Puppy boy.
"Stop talking. Every intern wants to perform their first surgery, that's not your job. Do you know what your job is? To make your resident happy," she remarks, turning around to face the group.
