Kai's POV
I look at the young man in the mirror - the young man who was expected to help carry on the Storm family legacy. On the inside I was the same frail twenty year old Kai Summers , but the everyone was expecting someone else .
I am pretty sure the board members of Storm Clinicals are expecting some confident , overzealous individual who could live up recommendation of one of the most influential men in NYC , even if his recommendation was nepotism at its finest.
" Learn as much as you can "- was the advice given to me by Mr.Storm. 'This is the first step to a future of success' , Juliet added.
Zander says it was their plan to set up me to take over Storm Clinicals. I am not sure the employees at Storm Clinical would be happy about someone barely out of college in line to take over a company that they had to spend years in school to get just to get an interview at ."Worry about being executive Kai tomorrow." I whispher to myself. At moment I've to worry about being a college student, and try to complete my required readings on neuropharmacology.
I was few pages into a book on Parkinson's Disease , when the front door opens revealing Zander . He hangs his coat behind the door.
He greets me with a peck on lips , and heads straight for the bathroom. Zander was coming home around 11 since the last three weeks ; mostly due to some new project to manufacture building materials that could withstand heatwaves and fires.
Knowledge I knew because Zander's dad had his assistant e-mail monthly board meeting minutes to me.
Sometime later, Zander doused in the familiar scent of old spice body wash. My eyes follow him as he climbs onto the sofa beside me. Already knowing what's going to happen next I push the laptop out of my lap , so he had space to rest his head.
I could feel him staring at me , his icy blue eyes analyzing my slightest of movement - leaving me feeling unguarded.
He takes the book from my hand with a tight-lipped smile forming at his lips.
I narrow my eyes at him ,"Yes ?"I ask .He gets up , "I missed you ." He whisphers, lifting me onto him.
So, the three calls through out the day weren't to remind me he wasn't going to be home for dinner. "You saw me this morning." I tell him.
"You didn't miss me ? " He whisphers . I move back , looking at his overconfident smile. I could tell he already knew my answer to his question . Although , I was happy about eating mostly frozen pizza and takeout for dinner. I missed having someone to impress with fancy meals. Was I enjoying domestic life ?
" I knew it." He proclaims wildly , standing suddenly. I hold onto his shoulders , not to slip.
"Wait , let me get down ." I plead with him. He starts walking , sliding his hand around my waist and wrapping my legs around him
"We're here ." He says. With a proud look in his eye , he sits me on his bed.
"In your room ? "
Zander sits beside me , brushing his leg against mine . " Our room." He says.
From the corner of my eye , I see the profile of his chin and nose , and his curved lip - Yes ! Zander Storm is amazingly handsome." I don't understand." I reply , confused at him correcting me.
He chuckles , getting up. "I want you to move in this room , with me ." He explains.
