The first fall storm hits
Rain falling relentlessly through humid air
The earth breathing in ever bit of needed rain
The last bits of summer are gone
Put to bed until next year
Raging fires are put to rest
The wetlands fill once again
The ever familiar rain returns
As the year nears its end
A new beginning will be here once again
