Massika and Ryu both went to work after breakfast leaving Emi alone in the house. Around noon, she received a phone call from a number she didn't know. Hesitantly she answered hoping it was the firm she had sent her resume to. To her relief, it was and they were wanting her to come in that afternoon for a formal interview. She promised to be there before they hung up. She sent a text to her cousin Remi asking if it would be possible to get a ride to the accounting firm in town. Remi was quick to tell her it was no problem and when she'd be there. Emi set her phone down and went to take a shower. She wanted to make a good impression on her, hopefully, new boss when she arrived. Once out of her shower, she brushed out her hair, put it up into a tight bun, then did a neutral smokey eyeshadow. She found a nice pantsuit she liked wearing when she had been working before and slid into it before walking back downstairs to await her cousin.

She hoped she would be hired that day. She didn't want to impose her aunt and uncle any more than she had to. There finally came a knock at the door so she grabbed her purse, slipped her phone inside, and walked to the door. Remi stood there with a wide smile happy to help her cousin out. Emi was curious about her and Tig so she asked making Remi laugh. They talked about their relationship making Emi blush at some of the things she'd heard her cousin state. Remi promised she'd be right there in the car waiting for her when she was done with her interview. Emi thanked Remi before walking inside the building. Remi began playing a game on her phone while she waited her cousin. Emi was a little nervous but tried to remain calm and collected. She was finally brought back to the supervisor's office where she'd be having this interview. He was surprised at how well she spoke English as they greeted one another.

He had a few questions which she answered honestly. He tested her knowledge and was pleasantly surprised by what all she knew. It was more than evident she knew what she was doing. They talked of hours and pay before settling on what worked for both. She had paperwork to do so she sat there doing that while he got her the new hire packet. It had a form for her to set up automatic banking in it. She knew she'd have to start a new bank account since she was sure they didn't have the bank she'd used before back in Japan here in California. Once she had finished her paperwork, she handed the forms back over with a smile. They shook hands and he welcomed her to the firm. She thanked him and promised she'd be an asset to the firm before she took her packet and left the building. She'd be starting work next week and she couldn't wait. When she made it out to the car, Remi asked how it went.

"I got the job! I start next week. I need to go start a bank account so I can have automatic deposits each week." Emi told her cousin.

"That's easy. I'll take you to my bank. I've been with them for years and they've always been good about helping when I need it. You only need about twenty-five dollars to start a checking account. I think it's fifty or a hundred for a savings account if you want to start one of those as well." Remi told her as she backed out of her space and began making the trip to her bank.

"I think I'll just start off with a checking account. I can start a savings account later." Emi replied.

"Do you have the funds? I can loan you the money if you don't. I don't mind." Remi asked.

"I've got it. I exchanged all of what I had in Yen into US Dollars before I left." Emi stated.

"Ok. Do you need me to go in with you?" Remi asked as she parked the car.

"No, I should be ok. Hopefully this won't take too long. I hate that I've had to impose on you so much already." Emi exclaimed.

"Nonsense. I'm happy to help." Remi smiled at her cousin before Emi exited the car.

About an hour later, Emi emerged from the building with a packet about her new banking account. Her new debit card and pin number would be mailed to her in a few weeks. She was happy things were going so well and that she was getting things accomplished that day. Once they were done at the bank, Remi dropped her cousin off at her parents' house then went home to get back to work. Remi congratulated her cousin on getting the job she'd applied for before leaving the young woman to head into the house. Ryu had made an extra house key for Emi while she was there so she could come and go as she pleased. Her car would be there in a few days and she knew she would have to get used to driving on the other side of the road which seemed weird to her. Once she was in the house, she filled out the auto pay paperwork so she could turn it in when she went to work the following week.

Filip was starting to wonder how bad his dad had it when he was prospecting for the club. He loved his uncles dearly but some of the things they were making him do was starting to annoy him. Cleaning out the communal bathroom was incredibly gross. The toilet was yellow since it wasn't cleaned often. Fetching lunch for everyone. Plus all manner of other random tasks. He never complained about it not wanting to look weak in front of the patched members. He just wanted to know if what he was going through was normal. One night after he was able to go home with his dad, he decided to ask.

"Hey dad? Did you have it this bad when you were prospecting?" Filip inquired making Elise look over at her husband curiously.

"Aye. All I can tell ya is t' keep your chin up, keep your mouth shut, don't complain, and do as you're told. You'll make it through with no problems like that. I assure you that once you're patched in, things will get much better." Chibs told his son.

"Thanks dad. I mean, I don't mind fetching lunch for everyone but cleaning that bathroom makes me gag." Filip stated making his sister giggle, "It's not funny. All the guys use it and it's horrendous in there."

"Good thing you only have a year of this. Right?" Elise asked her husband.

"There abouts. Sometimes it's a little longer but if he does well and proves himself it should only take about a year before they put it t' a vote t' patch him in." Chibs explained.

"I can't wait for this prospectship to be over. I hate being treated like this." Filip sighed, "I wanna be one of the brothers."

"I know son. But every patched member goes through this. Just remember, Jagger will go through the same things. And you'll get t' order 'im around like the rest o' the guys are you." Chibs chuckled.

"I can't do that to him. He's my cousin." Filip looked over at his dad.

"Don't worry about tha'. The rest o' the guys will treat 'im the way they treat you." Chibs smiled.

It eased Filip's mind that his dad received the same treatment as him when he was prospecting. At least he wasn't being singled out! He would do what his father said and tough it out the remainder of his prospectship. He wanted to be a fully patched member of the club more than anything in the whole world and would do whatever it takes to accomplish that goal. His sister was going off to college in the fall so he wouldn't have her to talk to when he was home. He wouldn't have her backing him up on some things. He would make it through this next year. Especially if his father thought he could make it. All he had to do was keep his head down, his mouth shut, and do what he was told. No complaining, no back-talking, nothing like that. Yes, he could handle that. He could make it.

Harley was excited to be heading off to college in the fall. She knew it was a long process of becoming a doctor and she was ready to put her all into making her dreams come true. Her grandmother was ecstatic when she'd announced she wanted to go to school to be a doctor. Massika and Ryu were a little worried about Filip prospecting with the club. They wanted him to go to college to become a functional member of society. It had disheartened both when he exclaimed he was going to prospect for the club like his father had done. Massika took Harley out clothes shopping so she had some new clothes for her college career making the teen hug her grandmother tightly. It made Elise laugh at how excited her daughter was at the day out with her grandmother going clothes shopping.
