Chapter 45

Everyday after they got off work, Chibs and Elise headed to the hospital to see about their infants. The doctors reassured the nervous parents that the twins were doing remarkably well and he thought they'd be able to go home soon. It elated Elise to hear that they might be released soon. She hated seeing them in the chambers they were stuck in. Gemma told her all about Abel and how hard it had been for all of them to see the little guy in his chamber as well but now he was a very healthy and happy little boy. It made Elise feel better about the prospect of her children growing up normal.

Elise couldn't be happier. Her children were finally being released from the hospital. Chibs stated Gemma was throwing a family dinner in honor of the babies coming home making her laugh. He said he'd escort her to Gemma's as they got the infants strapped into their car seats. He kissed her before walking over to his bike. Both babies were quiet as she drove along to Gemma's house. She was still a little sore from the birth but that didn't stop her from doing things around the house. Her employer gave her some maternity leave which she happily took. Once she found a parking space, she pulled in and parked. Getting the babies into the house was going to be tricky she thought until Chibs walked over after parking his bike.

He took one car seat whileshe took the other and walked into Gemma and Clay's house. Everyone greeted thepair cordially as they set the two car seats on the floor by the end of thecouch. Man-hugs for Chibs and congratulations for them both. She thanked allthe men before heading into the kitchen to see if she could help in any way.Gemma had all the help she needed she said and for her to go sit and relax. Elisejust smiled and did as she was requested and sat down on the end of the couchso she could tend to her children if they woke up. Bobby engaged her in conversationso she didn't feel like she was alone. Soon after they arrived, Tig and Remiarrived looking freshly showered. The two sisters hugged in greeting beforeRemi began gushing about her niece and nephew. It made Elise chuckle.

Happy and Ava showed up where she hugged her sisters and cooed over the babies. Happy greeted his brothers with man-hugs before finding a beer and a seat. Before long, the biker Queen was calling everyone to dinner. Since the twins were still sleeping, Elise left them where they were and joined everyone at the table. Gemma once again congratulated the pair on finally being able to bring their babies home and officially welcomed the newborns into the SAMCRO family bringing a smile to Elise's face. Bowls and platters were passed around as everyone chatted about this and that. Elise was just happy to not have cook that evening since she was emotionally drained from worrying about her children and them getting out of the hospital that day. Chibs gave her knee a squeeze under the table as Lyla got to talking with Elise about having another girl's day out soon.

The evening was relaxing and quiet. The men moved into the living room with Elise for smokes and beers while the women cleaned up from dinner. Tara needed to get their children home soon so they could get baths and ready for bed. Jax promised he'd be home soon. Tara said goodbye to everyone before leaving with their children. Harley woke up and began looking around making her mother smile down at her then picking her up out of her car seat. She'd already prepared bottles for both infants so she sat back and bottle fed their little girl as the men talked about this and that. Chibs sat with his wife with his arm draped casually over her shoulder as she fed his daughter. He loved watching his wife with his children. It did something to his insides he couldn't quite place.

Filip woke up soon afterhis sister so Chibs took Harley to burp her while Elise was feeding their son.It seemed odd to his brothers to see Chibs in such a mode after knowing whatall he was capable of. Ava loved seeing the tender side to her brother-in-lawand that he was truly helping her sister with the babies. Gemma just thought itwas so cute how Chibs was being so gentle with the infant as he held heragainst his shoulder to try and burp her. Elise was solely focused on feedinglittle Filip and not paying attention to anything or anyone around herincluding her sisters which amused the biker Queen. 

Around ten pm, everyone began leaving to head to their own homes or back to the clubhouse. Chibs helped get to the two infants back in their car seats and into the car before following his wife home. Tig was in a rather amorous mood and couldn't wait to get his wife home so they could have some adult fun together. He liked that she was pretty open minded about stuff and didn't mind trying out some of the crazy things he liked in bed. She giggled as he grabbed her hand and led them straight up to their room after locking the doors. He quickly undressed her making her laugh again. Ava and Happy headed home and went straight to sleep after locking up and shutting all the lights off. It had been a fun evening and she loved seeing her nephew and niece out of the hospital finally. It had been heartbreaking to see them in the chambers when they were in the hospital and knowing they had some health problems. But now they were out and could, hopefully, live a full, rich life.

Chibs helped get the twins into the house and into the nursery before locking up the house and turning all the lights off. She was getting the twins ready for bed when he entered the nursery. He leaned against the doorframe and smiled at her as she hummed some tune while changing the babies' diapers and getting them into their pjs. A smile spread across his face as she laid the infants down for the night. Now they could have some alone time even if it were for a few minutes. He grabbed her hand as she turned off the light and walked across the hall to their room. He kissed her passionately making her moan into the kiss. They weren't able to have sex yet, according to her doctor, but he just wanted to kiss and hold his wife.

"You're so good with them." He told her when they pulled away to get a breath.

"So are you. Don't forget that." She smiled back.

"How are you feeling?" He asked.

"Still sore. But betterthan yesterday." She replied before changing clothes for bed.

"It's t' be expected, love. Ya popped out two babies. It would take me months t' get back on my feet after that." Chibs told her as he pulled her into his arms making her laugh.

"I'll be alright soon. It'll just take time. I'm glad to have the time off to spend with the kids before I have to return to work. I love that the hospital has a daycare facility so I don't have to make an extra stop when I go into work." She told him.

"How much longer do you have?" He asked.

"About two weeks. I'm hoping to get the kids into a routine here before we start daycare when I go back to work." She stated.

"Let me know what I can do t' 'elp." He replied.

"Just follow my lead andthings will be ok." She giggled as she started tracing the tattoo on his chest.

The happy couple talked about how they wanted their routine to go in the mornings and evenings so to be a smooth transition for everyone. She wanted to cook dinner every night but knew that wouldn't be possible with taking care of twin infants and working a full-time job. She was thankful she'd listened to her mother's advice and made plenty of meals and froze them in advance so all she had to do was reheat them. They'd good a good, homecooked meal and it would be easy on her. They did order in every so often but that was rare. Chibs did his best to help with the kids and to pick up the house when he saw how tired his wife was. Her maternity leave was finally over so she took the twins with her when she left for work. Chibs kissed her passionately before she left earning a wide smile in return.

They'd already gotten thetwins registered and set-up for daycare so all she had to do was drop them off.She missed them as she walked away but knew she had to get to work. Elise didn'twant to just be a wife and mother. She wanted her own career and to make herown living. To have her own life outside of the club and being a mother. Whenshe made it to her ward, everyone welcomed her back and wanted to see picturesof her newborns. Elise happily obliged, proud of her family. Chibs headed in towork like he normally did. There was some club business that had come up thatClay wanted him, Tig, Jax, and Happy to head out with him on so Chibs strappedhis helmet back on and climbed back on his bike to follow his Prez and VP.
