SCORBUSSSSSS III

Scorpius opened his eyes, realising that he was in the surprisingly tranquil waters of Hogwarts' lake. He quickly swam up to the surface, taking panicked gulps of air.

Albus surfaced shortly after. Scorpius looked at him in disbelief, their quick breaths aligning.

"Whoa," Albus started.

"Albus!" Scorpius exclaimed.

"That was close! Did you see that Merman? The guy with the - and then the thing with the - whoa!" rambled Albus.

"It's you!"

"It was weird though - I thought I saw Cedric start to expand - but then he started shrinking again - and I looked at you and you had your wand out..." Albus went on, oblivious.

"You have no idea how good it is to see you again," Scorpius said breathlessly.

"You just saw me two minutes ago," Albus looked confused.

Scorpius hugged Albus, which was quite difficult to do in the water. "A lot has happened since then."

"Careful, you're drowning me. What are you wearing?" Albus questioned.

Scorpius pulled off his cloak. "What am I wearing? What are you wearing? Yes! You're in Slytherin!"

"Did it work?" Albus asked. "Did we do anything?"

"No. And it's brilliant." Scorpius had the largest smile on his face.

Now it was Albus's turn to look at Scorpius in disbelief. "What? We failed."

"Yes. YES. AND IT'S AMAZING." Scorpius splashed closer to Albus and the shore, cupping his cheek and impulsively kissing him on the lips, oh, so glad to see him again.

Albus was still, his eyes open wide.

Embarrassed that Albus had not reciprocated the gesture, Scorpius began to pull away.

But before he could, Albus slid his arms around Scorpius's waist to keep him close and kissed him again and again, because he had harboured a crush on his best friend for forever and it was so, so amazing to feel Scorpius's soft lips on his.

And it was pretty much the best gay first kiss of all time.
