Sirius woke up, wondering where he was.
Then, he remembered he was in his recently moved into apartment. The one he had gotten with Remus. Remus was nowhere in sight, so he guessed that he was already downstairs, getting ready for work.
Sirius got up and got ready. He walked to the kitchen to make breakfast, but was having a bit of trouble as he was still wrapping his head around Muggle objects and inventions.
As he opened a cupboard, the toaster went off, with a piece of bread Remus had put in popping out.
Sirius let out a high-pitched scream, startled by the sudden sound.
Remus rushed in, wand at the ready.
"What's wrong, where's the monster?" Remus looked around, but saw nothing.
Sirius was still frozen, staring at the toaster. "Wh-what is that?" he pointed a finger at the toaster.
"That's a toaster," Remus replied, starting to grin as he saw what had happened. "It's a Muggle invention that toasts bread and pops it out when it's ready. As they finished up breakfast and were leaving the kitchen, Sirius glared at the toaster.
"Don't you ever scare me again like that," he scolded the toaster.
