Apollo's pov

"Kristoff Gavin, I indict you!"

I couldn't believe the words that were coming out of my mouth. Kristoff, my kind and patient mentor a killer? I didn't want to believe it but I knew I could never forgive myself if I turned a blind eye to it.

"Apollo you would turn your back on me, your own mentor" the betrayal in his eyes only made it hurt more.

"It's nothing personal sir. I just need to pursue the truth, no matter where it takes me"

"I see" he turned to Mr wright "wright I'm going to make you regret turning my very impressionable student against me"

"It's not my fault he's become wise to your tricks Gavin" Mr wright smiled but his eyes held a deep hatred. I shrunk under their glares. I feel like a kid in the middle of a messy divorce!

Mr Gavin walked over to the witness bench and Mr wright took his place next to me.

"Uh Mr wright I don't think you're supposed to be here" I stared at him nervously.

"Relax I'm an ex attorney and you're still new at this. You need someone to mentor you. Besides" he placed a hand on my shoulder with a kind smile "I know this must be hard for you. Just know I've got your back kid"

"Thanks Mr wright" I nodded gratefully. I took a deep breath before facing Mr Gavin. Ready or not here comes justice!

*Time skip*

"I can believe he was really guilty" It was a gut sinking feeling seeing the man I looked up to turn into a monster. I'm glad Mr Wright was there with me "still that's what the evidence led us to so I'll just have to accept it"

"You're a strong kid Apollo" he smiled at me but I caught a guilty twitch in his eye.

"Mr wright why do you look so guilty?"

He jumped at my question "your eyes are better than I thought. And here I thought I was good at bluffing"

"Mr wright what are you hiding from me" I folded my arms sternly.

He sighed "I didn't mean to lie to you kiddo. I just couldn't risk you chocking up" he handed me the card that proved Kristoff's guilt "Gaven was right when he said that card was never there. I planted it"

"No" I covered my mouth. I just used forged evidence to convict someone!

"Apollo you have to understand. It was the only way to-" I cut him off with a punch to the face.

"You're not the man I thought you were and neither was he" I turned my back to him "congratulations on your verdict Mr wright. I hope we never meet again"

"Apollo wait!" he called out to me as I stormed off, wiping angry tears away. What a crappy start to my career!
