Chapter 9

Limang buwan na ang tiyan niya. Halata na ang umbok nito at kanina pa masama ang tingin ng lolo niya sa kamay niyang hinahaplos ang tiyan niya.

"You know grandpa kung may galit ka sa akin, uso siyang sabihin. Wag idaan sa pag tingin ng masama dahil may bibig ka naman." She casually said.

Inis na bumuntong hininga ito bago umayos nang upo. "It's been five months Haru, and you're still not telling me who the father of your child." Sabi nito.

Napailing siya. "And it's still a no grandpa. I still won't tell you. I'm ok without having my babies dad with me."

"Tsk. And who is this guy you've been hanging around these past few months?" Tanong nito.

"Leroy." She said bago napangiti. "Remember that guy in the lobby?"

"Tsk the one you said is the father of your child? I almost called  someone to pay that man a visit and maybe broke a bone or two. Good thing you told me you are just joking before I reach my phone." Sabi nito na ikinatawa niya.

Her first meeting with Leroy is still makes her laugh. After they left him in the lobby ay agad niyang sinabi sa lolo niya na di iyon ang ama ng anak niya at hindi niya yun kilala na umani ng hampas mula sa lolo niya dahil kung di niya kilala si Leroy eh bat niya daw niyakap.

"But we're friends now Lolo. He's been my companion these past few weeks. Nasa Singapore lang siya ngayon to check some business deals." Sabi niya bago kumuha ng fishball na pinaluto ng lolo niya sa maid.

Nasa bahay sila ng mga magulang niya kung saan nag iistay ang lolo niya pag nasa pinas ito.

"How long you gonna be here?" She asks.

"I'm leaving tomorrow. The clan is having a problem that I need to intervene."

"Do you need my help lolo?" She asks pero umirap ito.

"How Haru? You are pregnant."

Napangiwi siya bago pinagpatuloy ang pagkain. Her grandpa change the topic and mas pinag usapan nila ang buhay niya dito sa pinas. How she's handling everything being alone here.

After two hours of talking ay nagtungo na siya sa kwarto niya sa bahay ng parents niya at magpapahinga na sana ng mag ring ang cellphone niya. When she looks at it ay agad siyang napangiti ng makitang si Leroy ang tumatawag.

"Pangga." She greets sabay tawa. She remembered that, that was the pet name she called Leroy on the day they first meet.

"Ha?"

"Nothing. Hi Leroy."

"Hello buntis. What's the meaning of pangga? I remember you calling me that before."

She sat down on her bed bago ini loudspeaker ang cellphone niya.

"It's an endearment in visaya that means love." She said. "Why are you calling by the way."

"Oh yes, I am outside your condo." He said. "But seems like you're not here and so are the maids."

"I'm in my parents house Leroy. Andito si lolo." Mahina niyang sabi.

"Oh ok." Sabi nito. "I'll just go home then and come back tomorrow or something. I just wanna give you the Sugee cake you asks me to buy." Sabi nito na ikinasinghap niya at ikinatawa nito.

"Leroyyyyy. You better not move from where you're standing. Uuwi na ako." She said. She's been craving for sugee cake for two weeks now at ng sabihin nito na magpupunta ito ng Singapore ay yun agad ang gusto niyang pasalubong.

"No haru. Ako nalang ang pupunta sayo." Sabi nito.

Napaisip siya bago tiningnan ang paligid ng kwarto niya. Is she ready? Ready to have Leroy know more about her life? She look at the door ng bumukas iyon at pumasok ang lolo niyang nakasando lang at kitang kita niya ang tattoo nito sa magkabilang braso.

Napalunok siya bago nagsalita.

"I'll send you a text of my address Leroy. Drive safe." She said bago ibinaba ang tawag.

"You're allowing someone to come here?" Her grandpa asks.

"Yes." She said bago humiga sa kama. "I want my Sugee cake grandpa and Leroy will bring it here for me."

"How about your secret Haru?"

"I don't have a secret Lo."

"Does this man know that you're a member of yakuza clan?"

"Nope. Not because I am hiding it, but because he didn't asks." Kaswal niyang sabi na ikinailing nalang ng lolo niya bago ito umalis sa kwarto niya.

Napabuntong hininga siya. It's not gonna matter to Leroy right? If her family is a member of yakuza clan? That the reason why her parents died is because they got hunted with some enemies? And the reason why she's in the Philippines is because she's hunting those people who killed her parents but shit happens and now she's pregnant that change her plans.

Napapikit siya. Would she tell Leroy about her life? Damn she don't want him to runaway from her. Leroy is the friend she got. Plus he spoiled her so much and she's loving every minute everytime they are together.

She open her eyes and texted Leroy her parents house address. And when her phone rings ay agad niya iyong sinagot.

"Leroy bilisan mong pumunta dito. Nagugutom na ako."

Tumawa ang nasa kabiling linya. "Yes ma'am. Gusto ko lang itanong if may ipapabili ka pa sa labas para isahang ganap na."

Napaisip siya bago umiling. "Nothing Leroy. Just bring that cake for me here."

"I will. Bye now."

Nang mawala ito sa linya ay napatayo siya bago tiningnan ang sarili sa salamin. Her arms are clean. But her back. It's covered with tattoos that Leroy never seen before dahil hindi siya nagsusuot ng sleeves clothes around him. She's always wearing tshirt or long sleeve dresses when his around. But now she's wearing a sleeveless dress na open sa likuran.

And instead of changing her clothes ay bumalik siya sa pagkakahiga sa kama and decide to wait there for Leroy. If mag tatanong ito about her tattoos then she will answer him honestly. And if he won't then ok.
