Ferit didn't know what possessed Pyril to invite Dr. Basar, Ceren, to watch an autopsy but she had. Now the goddess had shown up with Detectives Bolat and Sezgin and they expected him to talk. His first attempt was more of a squeak than a word, so he cleared his throat and tried again.

"Cause of death was the rupture of the carotid artery when they slashed her throat. Unlike her brother she does have defensive wounds, we've taken scrapings from under her fingernails and sent them to the lab."

Ceren was looking at where he was pointing at the defensive wounds, "So the scrapings, what do you test for? DNA, blood type, all of the above?"

"Yes. Depending on the backlog in the lab it can take anywhere from one to three weeks to get the results back."

"Wow, that's crazy. I can't imagine not being able to get my lab results back within hours. How do you manage to close a case if you don't get your results back right away?"

Engin chuckled, "If it is to track down a suspect like we are trying to do in this case, we're hoping Ferit can put a rush on it. If this is evidence for a trial then we can wait. We try not to waste our favors."

Both Pyril and Ferit snorted at that one. Engin said, "I said we try, I didn't say we were successful."

Serkan had been quiet through most of the exam, "What else you got Ferit? Pyril?"

Pyril was pointing to Fatma's mouth, "Well, at least she was dead before they cut her tongue out based on the lack of blood where it was severed. We didn't locate the tongue, we're assuming they tossed it into the sea."

"Any idea how long she had been dead for?"

"At least twelve hours based on liver temp and body rigor."

Engin looked over at Serkan, "So she wasn't texting me this morning, the whole thing was a set-up. I don't suppose they found her phone Engin?"

"No, it wasn't on her body we still have to search her apartment."

"What a waste. Ferit, did she ever claim Cenk's body?"

Ferit shook his head, "I talked to her yesterday. She was supposed to have the information today."

"I'll take care of both of them. Hang on to his if you can, we'll just do them together. If you don't have anything else for me I'm going to head out for the day. Engin, I'll see you in the morning. We should have all those files I requested by then. Leyla is pulling them now." Serkan gave wave of sorts and walked out the door.

Engin didn't have a reason to hang around either, but he wanted to. "I don't know if you guys are going to be too much longer but maybe you want to go grab dinner?"

Pyril and Ferit looked at Engin, "Do you mean us?"

"Well yes, and you too Ceren, if you're free. It isn't like you and I haven't had dinner together before Ferit."

Ceren thought it was a good idea, "I'm in, Pyril? Ferit?"

Pyril and Ferit were stunned, Ceren had decided to go to dinner with them and was now calling them by their first names. Pyril said, "I'm in. Ferit, you should come too. We just need thirty minutes or so to wash up."

Engin clapped his hands, "Great! There's a nice little place right on the water not to far from here Burgoo's? Do you know it? How about Ceren and I go grab a table and you two meet us there?"

"That sounds good, we'll see you there." Pyril was surprised, Burgoo's was one of her favorite restaurants. What were the chances of Engin picking her favorite restaurant?

Ceren and Engin walked out of the medical examiner's building to their cars. "Engin, that was a great idea. Pyril looked to be very impressed. Remember to mind your table manners at dinner."
