Chapter - 23

Kemal was so overcome with joy to see Aydan that he forgot to talk to Serkan, it was only when the nurses came in to take him to his room for the night that he recalled the need.

"Nurse, one moment, I need to talk to my son briefly."

"Just one minute." She came out of the room and told Serkan that his father wanted to see him.

"Baba?"

"Serkan, I needed to talk to you. There are two things you have to do. First you have to keep your mother safe and then second, tomorrow morning first thing you have to sign the shares over to Alexander Zucco. I finalized the sale of the holding to him today. Serkan, the accident? It wasn't an accident, someone hit me on purpose, they headed straight for me."

"Let's get you to your room and we can talk a bit more okay? He already knew it wasn't an accident." Serkan walked out to tell the nurse that they could move his father.

Seyfi had arrived during the short time that Serkan was in with his father, the scene that he walked in on was an excited Seyfi hugging Aydan telling her how proud he was of her. How good of a friend Seyfi was to his mother and to his family Serkan thought.

Serkan walked over to Eda, "What are you up to over here?"

"Just giving your mother and Seyfi a minute. He is so happy to have her out of the house, he has been talking a mile a minute since he got here."

"I know that he has missed my mother in the business. They had a lot of fun together."

Eda's phone pinged with a text message. It was Ceren reminding her of the cookout tomorrow. "I forgot about Ceren's cookout tomorrow, I'll let her know that we probably won't be able to come."

Serkan hated to disappoint Eda and he knew that she missed her friends, "No, don't cancel. My father is getting discharged tomorrow morning. Once he's home my mother will be there to care for him. We can still go."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, I just have some papers to sign early in the morning. I'm off the next two days, I'll probably do a little work here and there but yes, I'm sure."

While she had a break, Ceren was planning for her weekend cookout, she had her guests lined up. Melo was bringing her security guard, Officer Karadag and Engin had texted asking if he could add two more, Detectives Ackman and Haktan, she saw no reason why not. Ceren loved to host parties, she rarely got to have them because of her busy schedule.

She was most looking forward to seeing Ferit. They had exchanged a few texts during the week but hadn't had the opportunity to see each other.

Thinking about him she sent off a text, 'Ready for tomorrow?'.

Ferit responded, 'What's tomorrow?' then a moment later 'kidding, yes, what can I help with?'.

Ceren: 'Just bring yourself, everything is ordered, you can come a bit early if you want to help set up though' she did it, maybe they would get a bit of time to spent together.

Ferit: 'Tell me when'.

Ceren: 'Is breakfast too early?'

Ferit's heart started beating faster, she wanted to spend time with him alone? Yes! He responded, 'Perfect'. He was doing this, for once in his life he was going to be bold, he might get sick and throw up between now and then but he was going to do this.

When Ceren saw the 'Perfect' she was so excited, the rest of her day flew by, she was on cloud nine.
