Serkan looked at the pile on his desk that Leyla had pulled for him, it was more that he thought it was going to be. "Engin, I'm going to take some of this with me. The rest can wait until I get back."
"That's fine, I think we'll have plenty to keep us busy. Do you want me to tell Leyla she'll be helping or should you do the honors."
"Be my guest Engin, she already knows she doesn't have to walk Sirius anymore. I told her yesterday."
"Did she pass out from joy?"
"You know Engin, you saw those four young ladies who weren't quaking in their shoes around Sirius. This is more about you than it is him. That dog follows Eda around like a puppy."
Engin muttered under his breath 'kind of like you' as he was looking at the street camera videos.
"Did you say something Engin?"
"No Abi."
Serkan was looking through registrations for all the Mercedes G-Wagons in Istanbul but then decided to expand it to Turkey, there were more than he thought there would be. He also remembered to send off a text to Eda ' Can you have a plus 1 for your trip to Antalya?'.
"I think I have something but it's not the right angle," said Engin. Serkan went over to his desk.
"Do we have another camera in the area?"
"No, let's see what pans out on this and then see if we can track where they go. Maybe another camera can pick them up."
"Weren't they concerned with crime down there? I would swear I saw more cameras."
"Abi, they were fake, I called yesterday thinking I could get the videos from them. That's why I didn't get to the doc's until late. What a waste. If they were real we could have had all of it on video."
"Ok, focus Engin on what we do have, your idea to track where they go if we can't get anything here is solid."
The two men watched the SUV come close to the harbor, there was a boat blocking their view. They couldn't get a closer picture of the two men, almost like they knew exactly where the cameras where.
"There." Serkan, had Engin stop the video, they had a frame with the two men and Fatma, it wasn't a frontal view but a side view. "They have to come back the same way so we'll have both sides, we might get lucky on the way back if they are facing more towards the camera. Save some of these images. IT might be able to clean this up a bit for us."
The process of culling through the videos was tedious but they stuck to it and got as many images as possible. Due to the camera angle they were unable to capture Fatma's murder but did get better images of the men upon their return.
"Hopefully the IT team can get one of these images of the SUV clean enough so we can get a plate number. I want this to go to Akman, I don't trust anyone else but him to handle it, you agree?" asked Serkan.
"Yeah, he should be able to help. I haven't worked with anyone else up there that I know so I'd rather stick with him."
Serkan sent the file to Detective Efe Akman asking if he could do whatever magic he had to clean up the file. They needed a better look at the men and a plate from the SUV if he could get it.
His phone pinged with a text, Eda 'I can have a plus one – just checked – have to share a room though'. Reading the text his temperature spiked, the thoughts that it put in his brain at sharing a room. He should probably let her know that he was the plus one, 'I'm your plus one'. He waited to see if she would respond, he saw the three dots, 'I know'. He needed some cold water.
