Synthia's P.O.V

I asked Audrey out on a date a week after Halloween, and she accepted, which made my day. I had heard from Mal about a nice restaurant that was close to school, and I thought that it would be a great place to take Audrey on a date. I could hardly believe how cold it had gotten in just the past week. Halloween, for example, was a typical autumn day in terms of the temperature. The day of my date with Audrey, the temperature was in the low teens, nearly thirty degrees colder than it was on Halloween. As a result, I put on a pair of tights under my usual outfit, combined with a winter coat that I had gotten around the beginning of October for a great price. What I hadn't been planning on was several inches of snow, which made travel very difficult. I found out that the restaurant I was going to take Audrey to was closed for the day because most of the employees couldn't get there. "So, where are we going?" Audrey asked me. "Well, I was going to take you to a restaurant nearby, but they're closed today," I said. "We don't have to go anywhere special for it to be a date. If you want, we can hang out in my dorm," she offered. "I'd like that. Let me just get out of my coat and tights, and then I'll be good to go," I said. "Okay. I'll be right here when you're done," she said as I went back into my dorm.

A few minutes later, Synthia came back out of her dorm, and I brought her to my dorm so we could hang out. "Wow. This place is beautiful," she said when we walked in. "I didn't think you'd like it, since it's so different from your dorm," I said. "I will agree with you there," she said. "I've got some games that we can play, if you want," I said. "That sounds fun," she said. "I was thinking, what if we play two truths and a lie?" I asked. "That sounds interesting. What's it about?" She asked. "Well, we each take turns telling each other three things. Two of them are true, and one is a lie," I explained. "Oh. Can I go first?" She asked. "Go ahead," I replied. "Okay. I've never dated anyone except for you. I once made a youth potion with my mom and my aunts that didn't do anything. I was top of my class last school year," she said. I took a few moments to think before I made a decision. "I think the third thing is the lie," I said. "Yeah, you're right. My mom and her sisters taught me how to make some of the potions that they used before they wound up on the Isle. As far as dating... let's just say people don't really date on the Isle," she said. We played the game for a bit, and we both learned a lot about each other. For instance, I learned that Synthia has a soft spot for flowers, and she taught herself to make jewelry out of whatever she could find.

After we played a few more games, I realized how close I was to Synthia. "You smell nice," I said. "Uh... thanks?" She said. "Was that creepy?" I asked. "A little bit, yeah," she said. "I didn't mean for it to come across that way," I replied. "It's fine. You... um... you smell good too," she said. "Thanks," I replied, gently putting my hand on her cheek. "Wh-what are you...?" She asked me. "Shh. Don't worry. Just relax," I said softly, lightly stroking her cheek, moving in closer to her. After a few seconds pause, Synthia started to move closer to me, and I could feel her warm breath on my lips. I quickly gave her a light peck on the lips, but she apparently wanted more than just a peck on the lips, because she pulled me into a kiss. I closed my eyes and entangled my hands in her long blonde hair, holding her close. "That... That felt amazing," she said when we separated. "You're telling me, beautiful," I said.

I felt something that I wasn't expecting when I kissed Audrey, but I didn't know what it was for a moment, then it dawned on me. "Audrey, with what happened just now... That was the best thing I've ever experienced," I said. "Same here, sweetheart," Audrey replied. "The kiss that we just shared made me realize something," I said. "Go on," she said. "Audrey... I love you," I said. Audrey smiled at me, wider than I'd ever seen her smile before. "I'm so happy that you found out what love feels like!" She said, giving me a tight squeeze. "I'm happy too. I've finally realized that you're the thing that's been missing all my life," I said. "Aww, that's so sweet!" She replied. "You don't think that it's kinda cheesy?" I asked her. "No. I think that you're speaking from your heart," she said. "I am. You're my other half," I said. "I could say the same about you," she said softly. I suddenly thought of what my mother would say if she found out that I was dating a girl. "What if my mom finds out about us?" I asked. "She won't. She's on the Isle, and you're here, in Auradon. Even if she were to find out, there's nothing she can do about it. Besides, if she were here, she'd just have to accept that we're together and that we're in love," Audrey said. "You're absolutely right. I'm my own person. I don't have to be what my mom wants me to be," I said. "That's the spirit," Audrey replied, and we spent the rest of the day playing games together.
