"You have to wake up."

Why, what's the point? There is no point.
He's already gone.

"You have to keep fighting. You have to prove to me that you're strong enough to keep going."

But he's tired, he doesn't want to continue going,
he just wants to sleep...
He wants peace..
He wants rest.

"Wake up Beomgyu, I love you."

Yeonjuns voice was heard for a short while, but even that eventually faded away and instead blended in with his fathers.

"Dad..?" He whispered out, voice dry and eyes barely open.

The man had their hands locked together, with hope he rose his head off the bed and did his best to lock their eyes through his tears.

"Son, you're awake.." He smiled through his pain, just like he always did.

"Dad..where am I, what's going on..?" There was slight panic in his voice as he had no recollection of the prior events, all he knew was that he was in an overly white room and his body felt weak to move.

"You're in the hospital, everything's okay you just got your stomach pumped but you're okay, it's all going to be okay." He decided not to interrogate Beomgyu on his attempt to over dose but rather did his best at supporting him. He figured that's the best he could do for him in the time being.

"Listen Beomgyu, I don't want you to be afraid, I'll be right here with you through it all, but the doctors think it's best if you go for in patient treatment for awhile.."

"But i don't want to go there dad, I just want to come home with you and mom.."

His dad could feel his own tears coming again as he watched his son break down for the final time in front of him. "I know kiddo, and I'm sorry but you can't. You have to go and get better, just like mom tried for us okay?"

He knew about Beomgyus growing addiction to cannabis, he hasn't said anything because he was scared of pushing him away more than he already was. He was hopeful it might have been helping at least a little, but he knew now it was time to send him to inpatient therapy, and rehab. A place where he could treat his addiction, mental health, and stay safe.

"Dad please.. I don't want to go please." His voice dragged out and lingered on, it was starchy and hard for his father to hear.

Beomgyu gripped his hand tighter and now leaned over the bed. There was nothing but fear and regret in his eyes as he begged his father to let him come home.

"Son it's not up to me, the doctors and police are making you so you're not a threat to yourself. It's only for a little and I promise to call you every night before bed, and every weekend is visitation so I'll come and see you okay."

It wasn't long after before the medics came in to help take him. Every step of the way he looked back to his dad, a huge pout on his quivering lip.

  Why couldn't he have died?
