Thooriga
"Thatha, don't worry, I'll receive the package by twelve. You don't forget the plan."
I fold my arms against my chest and Raj looks between us confused.
"I won't forget." He truffles my hair. "When the decorators are arriving?"
I check the time on my mobile. "In a while, thatha."
"Okay then, you both go to your room and finish if there is any pending work." He smiles at me and I return it. "Call me when the decorators arrive." He leaves us alone in the living room and goes upstairs to his room.
Raj holds my hand and drags me along with him to our suite. He closes the door behind us and I look at him surprised as he never holds my hand in front of everyone.
"What?" He cocks his head up and I eye towards my hand. He realises that he is still holding my hand and facepalms. "How did I forget to have the sense of time and place before holding your hand in the middle of the house?" He has always been cautious in expressing before others but today for the first time he was careless.
He slides his hand from my wrist down to my palm. My small hands easily get engulfed in his huge one. I would never get tired of watching my hand disappear in his. He pulls me towards his room and I follow him.
"What happened, Mama? You seem happy and different." I ask him as soon as he closes the door of his room.
"It's been long." He pulls me towards him and wraps his hands around my waist. "After the bomb blast and you took off to abroad, only today I have seen this family happy during breakfast and afterwards." He rubs his nose against mine and kisses the tip of it.
"Wow. I didn't know that Vikranth's visit would make you so happy." I pinch his cheeks and shake his head. He rolls his eyes and glares at me. "Just for fun, Mama. But I'm so happy seeing the family standing by you." I wrap my hands around his neck and he smiles wholeheartedly. He just looks like the heart in eyes emoji.
During Grad school, though Vikranth was one of the famous guys, according to me he was just one among the other boys in that huge university. As Raj was the only person who occupied my mind and soul, I didn't feel anything towards other boys except for friendship.
But whenever Vikranth is here, he is trying to put Raj down and I don't know why. Today I was super pissed but controlled myself as Raj asked me not to display our relationship publicly. But back to back, Rudhran Chitha, Thiyagu Mama, Parvathy Paati and Ilakkiya Aathi stood by him. Also Eshwaran Mama who was initially not ready to coach the team, agreed after Vikranth's show off.
"What were you both grandfather and granddaughter duo talking about?" Raj steps away from me and sits on his bed, leaning his hands behind him.
"Tomorrow night we are going to a party." I wanted to keep it as a surprise to him too but if I tell him, it'll be easy for me to do any arrangements. I go and sit on his lap, wrapping my hands around him, placing my legs on the bed.
"What? Does Thiyagu mama know about us?" He leans up straight and holds me.
"We mean not just you and me. Rudhran Chitha, Tina, Tanya, Saby, us and other guards if you are ordering them to escort us, My manguni mama." He is happy but seems a little lost too.
"Hey..." He spanks my ass and I bite his cheeks in return.
"Yesterday, Didn't I tell you and Chitha that Thatha questioned me about the relationship equation between Chitha and Tina?" He nodded his head. "He feels that as they have been in a long distance relationship all these years, the ice between them is yet to break. They seem a little awkward with each other. So he wanted us to take them to the nightclub in the hotel we are staying in. I ordered a dress for the girls. I guess you boys can fit in with anything you bring."
