Part 2

An Unfortunate Event

Months have passed. Quicker than they had any right to. All that was left was to decorate and add the Animatronics to the diner. Cactus saw the dragons around him unload boxes from carried nets and the Animatronics carefully being held.

Brilliant was in charge of job applications. Drought was in charge of moving things. And Cactus was in charge of making sure nothing went wrong. So far, everything went perfectly. Nothing had broken, everything was installed smoothly, and the Animatronics looked perfect.

Cactus was helping some dragons move Jackrabbit over to his, Hopper's, and Taipan's stage. He couldn't tell if Jackrabbit felt lighter or heavier than a normal SandWing because when Jackrabbit leaned on him, it felt like trying to move a whale. Drought helped other dragons move Hopper and two dragons he didn't know the name of carried Taipan. Jackrabbit was the first to be placed on the stage, and everyone sighed in relief once they stopped carrying him. Hopper was next to go up on the stage, but as soon as Taipan came up, everyone realized that he wouldn't be able to fit in with the two dragons.

"What do you mean Taipan won't be able to fit? We'll find room." Cactus protested. He wanted all there to be on stage, he wanted all of them to be shown together.

"Cactus, he won't fit. We can use that other stage you built. He'll still be in the diner." A MudWing opposed.

Cactus could feel the smoke rising from his snout. He knew it sounded stupid, but that stage was reserved for other possible Animatronics, not one of the main ones.

"Cactus be reasonable." Drought warned. "If we have to move Taipan to a different stage, we have to move Taipan to a different stage."

"Fine." Cactus snarled.

They all had to move Taipan to that stage which was closer to the entrance. The stage room was somewhat small, but it would be big enough to fit Taipan and some dragonets who wanted to watch him.

Hopefully, some dragonets will watch him despite being away from the others. Cactus thought.

They'll have to add a sign on the doorway that says 'Taipan' so that they know where to find him. After that, Cactus ordered a sign to be made and helped Drought and everyone else with setting things up. They set up posters, tables, chairs, and wall decorations, and even set up prizes at Prize Corner.

Right as Cactus was putting some Hopper plushies on the shelves he heard a voice call his name.

"Cactus. Afton, sir, you are needed in the facility." A SeaWing said. He believed his name was Creek.

"I'll be right over," Cactus called out, taking out the last plushies from the box. Once he finished, he turned around to see Drought right next to him. He jumped but instantly regained himself. "Drought, don't sneak up on me like that." Cactus snarled.

"Sorry, Cactus! I just heard that SeaWing say you were needed in a facility. What facility were they talking about? Did you make something else without telling me? Can I come?" Drought said.

"Yeah, sure, you can come, but first someone oughta tell Brilliant he's in charge now."

Cactus looked around to find a dragon who wasn't already working or was taking a break. His eyes landed on a light brown MudWing.

"Hey, you!" He called to the MudWing.

The MudWing looked confused for a second but walked over to him. "What's your name?" Cactus asked.
