Eclipse Lake Pt. 1

Emperor Belos stood infront of a fully rebuilt portal, and put a tube to the keyhole of the door. With a wave he gestured an abomatons to activate a machine, that injected agreen fluid into the door, making the door glow brightly. Emperor Belos used a pieced together key, to open the door. However, the key immediatly vaporized and turned to dust.

Nearby, Hunter was watching the whole test, until the small cardinal palisman flew by and let out a chirp. Hunter immediatly tried to silence it, by swatting it away. "Shoo!" He whispered, and flinched when Belos spoke up.

"Would you like to see how it works, Hunter?", Belos asked and Hunter gasped. The Cardinal quickly turned to Wood, allowing Hunter to hide it in his uniform. He stepped out of the shadows and carefully approached his uncle.

"I didn't mean to hide, Emperor Belos", he said and Belos turned around with a smile. Except for the nasty, green scar in the middle of his face, he looked rather normal.

"We found every piece of the door", Belos said, turning back to the door.  "but without the power of the real key, it refuses to open." His tone was annoyed. Like he had enough of the experimenting.

Hunter asked curiously: "Is it true that rain doesn't boil in the human realm?", Making Belos smile again.

"It is. You know, I've been there before. Did I ever tell you that?" Hunter shook his head. The trees there are green, the nights are quiet... I look forward to seeing it again." He told, His voice almost a little homesick. "Were you spying on me just to hear these boring stories?" He stepped down the steps of the portal tonstand next to Hunter.

"The operation at the knee, why did you switch me and Tabitha out with Kikimora?" Hunter then asked.

"Everyone has a use, Hunter", Belos replied, "Kikimora has her intricate little plans, the scouts carry out orders, and you... well, the Titan has big plans for you both, and it would be such a hassle to find a replacement. So, right now, you can be useful by staying safe in the castle." He began to escort Hunter out of the room.

"If this is punishment for failing my last mission, I swear I can do better!"

"Goodnight, Hunter." Belos closed the door to the room, leaving Hunter in the hallway.

He balled his hands into fists and let out a long sigh until a voice behind him called said:

"Hey, Hunter"

He flinched, turned around and saw Tabitha standing there with her arms crossed and leaned against a wall. She looked tired, probably didn't sleep much again. Now that he thought about it; she didn't really sleep after the thing that happened in Latissa. She always complained about not being able.
"What do you want?", He asked, his hands still balled up into fists, as he stepped past her.

"I'm gonna keep it short", she said, "wanna Show belos and the little gremlin, that we're better than her?"

Yn and Amity were walking through the hall of the Owl House. The purple haired girl, was looking at a checklist, while Yn had his arms behind his back. His bracelet was glowing slightly, they all didn't know why, but it did that for the past few days now.. Constantly. And Yn, slowly was getting annoyed by this.
