Martina's pov

"Waa! WAA!" A shrill, piercing cry echoed in my ears, yanking me from a deep slumber. Was that...me? My eyes fluttered open, and I stared up at a ceiling unfamiliar and grand, with intricate designs swirling across its surface. It was beautiful, yet entirely strange.

Kira promised to reincarnate me in another universe. Could it be? Am I really in another world? My gaze darted around the room, curiosity and disbelief swirling inside me. I raised my hand, only to find it small and chubby.

"So...I did become a baby," I thought, staring at my tiny fingers. My mind immediately jumped to my parents. If I'm reborn, then what do they look like? They must be attractive if I'm this adorable! I tried to speak, excitement bubbling up inside me.

"Waa...WAA!?" Instead of words, another cry spilled from my lips. My eyes went wide. Of course. I'm a baby now; talking was out of the question. I attempted to sit up, but the moment I did, my body wobbled uncontrollably, tipping over like a ship caught in a storm. I crashed back onto the mattress with a muffled thud. "WAAAAAAA!" The cry erupted from me involuntarily, loud and desperate.

Suddenly, hurried footsteps echoed from beyond the door. It swung open, and light flooded in, outlining a figure with angelic grace. A woman, no older than her mid-twenties, stepped into the room. She had long, golden hair that cascaded around her shoulders and emerald eyes that shimmered with warmth. She was stunning, much younger than I had ever been, and she hurried over to me, lifting me up with practiced ease.

"Shh... It's okay, Martina. Mommy's here," she cooed, her soft voice melting away my confusion. The way she held me, gentle and secure, made me want to hold on forever.

Wait...Mommy?

I stared up at her in awe. Is this gorgeous woman my mother? Of course, she had to be beautiful if my reincarnated self was adorable! I couldn't help but feel a wave of emotions crash over me, joy, relief, and a twinge of sadness. I missed my old mom...

Without thinking, I reached out, clinging tighter to my new mother. Her warmth was comforting, and I couldn't help but giggle softly. She smiled down at me, eyes twinkling with affection.

But...where is my father? I hadn't seen him yet. Did he leave my mother to care for me alone? Before I could ponder more, she gently cradled me and reached for a baby bottle filled with milk.

She began feeding me, humming a soft tune that lulled me into calmness. Surprisingly, the milk was delicious, sweet and creamy, nothing like I remembered. When I had drained the bottle, she set it aside and placed me back in the crib.

"Sleep well, my little Martina," she whispered, her voice tender and sweet. I watched her leave the room, closing the door softly behind her. I looked down at my tiny hand, noticing a smudge of blue paint on my palm. Odd...but I couldn't worry about that now.

Well, I guess I have to live my life as a baby now. Great...

Seven years later..

Time passed in the blink of an eye, and now I was seven years old. Today was my first day at elementary school. I clutched my mother's hand, her grip firm yet gentle. She smiled down at me as we made our way through the grand castle-like building.

"Is this...an elementary school?" I whispered, wide-eyed. Everything was pristine, polished, and extravagant. I watched other children run around, some holding hands with their parents, laughter ringing through the air. I couldn't help but feel a pang of envy.

"Martina? Are you alright?" my mother asked, her expression softening with concern. I forced a bright smile, shaking off my nerves.

"Yeah! I'm just excited to make new friends!" I chirped, my voice full of enthusiasm. My mother's smile grew, and we walked through the grand entryway. It was too lavish to be a school...but I guess that was part of being a king's daughter.

We waited for our turn to sign the attendance forms.

"Family Rikaris?" a voice called. We stood and entered the principal's office, where two men greeted us—one middle-aged and the other elderly, with eyes sharp and observant. I sat beside my mother, only half-listening to their conversation. I still had the mind of a young child, so most of it slipped past me.

Then, the elderly man asked a question that made my stomach twist.

"How is your husband doing?" he asked politely. My mother's smile faltered, and she looked down for a moment.

"He's still on duty," she replied quietly. Her voice was steady, but I saw the sadness in her eyes. I had never met my father. I wasn't even sure if he was still alive, and I never asked—I didn't want to make my mother sad.

"Ah...still as dedicated as ever," the man replied kindly. After some formalities, we shook hands and left the room, my small hand clutching my mother's.

We finally reached the cafeteria, filled with children. My mother turned to face me, kneeling down.

"You stay here until noon, alright? I'll come pick you up. And Martina? Be good for your teacher," she said softly, brushing her hand through my hair. I grinned widely.

"I will! And I'll save the front row just for you!" I boasted. My mother laughed, gently ruffling my hair before leaving.

As she disappeared from view, my smile faded. I made my way to an empty table, sitting down with a sigh. It was so noisy...I just wanted a little peace.

A soft voice broke through my thoughts. "Hey, are you Lady Martina?"
