6 years later.. (yes im lazy)
Martina's POV:
"Martina? You up?" A gentle shake nudged me from my sleep, pulling me out of a distant dream. I blinked slowly, my eyes adjusting to the morning light. A familiar face hovered above me—blonde hair, bright eyes. Wait, who was it again?
"It's time for school, or I'll kick you out of the house, sweetie," the woman said with a teasing grin. Recognition clicked in, and I sighed. It was my mother.
I groaned and stretched under the covers. "But... I'm feeling lazy today, Mom," I mumbled, rubbing my eyes. She shot me a sharp look that could have cut glass. I flinched instinctively, my hand going to my neck.
"Alright, jeez..." I muttered, flopping back onto my pillow. She smirked triumphantly before leaving the room. How is it that mothers get scarier with age? It's like a universal rule.
Clank
"Lady Martina? Your bath is ready..." a soft, familiar voice called out. I blinked, turning my gaze to see Carley, my maid, standing politely by the doorway.
"Ah, yes. I'll grab my towel," I replied, moving towards my closet. When I pulled the doors open, rows upon rows of lavish gowns greeted me. I couldn't help but sigh. Mom really did spoil me too much. I bet you're wondering if I've met my father yet, right? The answer's still no. Fatherless life for the win, I guess. Annoying, really. God still hasn't sent me a single message. If I die again, I swear I'm kicking her ass.
In the grandest bath ever..
I dipped my feet into the steaming water, shivering slightly. Was it too hot? Or am I just that sensitive? Whatever. I lowered myself in, savoring the warmth that spread across my body. I let out a sigh, leaning back against the marble edge. I wondered what Shikari was up to right now.
Splash!
I shot up, water sloshing around me. What the heck? I wasn't moving, so where did that splash come from? Oh my god...was it a ghost?! I swear if there's a spirit wanting to share my bath time, I'm blasting it to the window.
I scanned the room carefully, eyes darting to the adjacent tub. There was nothing there. I let out a breath of relief...until I saw movement.
Slowly, I stepped out of the water, wrapping a towel around me as I approached the other tub. I peered in, expecting to see nothing. But instead...
"AAAAAAAAA!!!" I screamed, instinctively shooting an air bullet toward the figure. The person flew back, crashing against the wall. I gasped, catching sight of blonde hair as she stood up, rubbing her head.
"Oww! Bitch, what the duck! Is that how you greet your savior?!" she groaned, stretching out her limbs.
I froze. That voice... "G-GOD?!" I shouted in disbelief. She snapped her head up, flipping open a white hand fan to cover her mouth.
"Oh hi~," she chirped cheerfully.
"DON'T GREET ME LIKE THAT!" I yelled, heat rising to my face. My eyes burned with embarrassment as I remembered I was only in a towel. "What are you doing here?!" I demanded, clutching the fabric tighter.
She just sighed dramatically. "You seem to have adjusted well. Good to see you looking strong," she remarked casually, opening her fan wider.
"Huh?" I blinked, slightly caught off guard. "That's... not what I expected you to say."
She just chuckled and stepped deeper into the bath, completely unbothered.
"I came to deliver my message," she announced.
