In her talk with God...
"So, why are you talking to me while I'm in class?" I muttered under my breath, trying to keep my voice low as the teacher droned on at the front of the room.
"Chill, girl. I just want to let you know what Asuka is up to!" Kira said with a laugh, and I heard the sound of hands clapping. My vision suddenly flashed with light, and a video feed appeared before my eyes.
"How are you even doing this?" I asked, bewildered.
"I'm God, I can do anything," she replied with a giggle, and the video started playing on its own. I saw Asuka walking through the corridors of the academy. She looked different—more confident, almost sinister.
"Isn't this...stalking?" I asked, a bit uneasy.
"Maybe\~," Kira chimed in with a teasing laugh.
I scoffed but kept watching. Asuka entered a dimly lit room where three girls were waiting for her. I recognized them—they were from the Anomalous Magic side. The one who used insect magic stood at the front, arms crossed and a sneer plastered on her face.
"So? What do you want, scaredy girl?" she taunted, her voice dripping with arrogance.
But Asuka just smiled, not the sweet, gentle smile I remembered, but something wicked. "Nothing much... I just want to make peace," she cooed, holding her hands behind her back.
The three girls laughed mockingly. "Peace? Hah! Like hell we would," the insect girl sneered, her friends nodding in agreement.
Asuka didn’t seem fazed. Her grin grew wider as she pulled out a collection of dresses and spa accessories from seemingly nowhere. "Well… how about a girls' night?\~"
The girls stopped laughing, blinking at the dresses in surprise. They exchanged glances before the insect girl smirked. "Nice choice... NOW SPA TIME, GIRLS!" she yelled, and the video abruptly ended.
"Man, I wanna join too…" I muttered with a sigh.
Kira chuckled. "Hehe, well not now! That’s all the information I had!\~"
Before I could ask more, I heard another voice chime in faintly, "Kira-chan\~ it’s kisses time\~."
"AW HELL NA—" her voice cut off abruptly, leaving me blinking at the empty space in front of me. It felt like I had just been in a virtual call that disconnected. I shook my head, trying to process everything.
"What’s happening to Asuka…?" I whispered to myself. Her personality shift was too drastic. Was it because of that Luis guy? I had so many questions but no answers. I needed to find out more.
"Martina, please read the next chapter," my teacher called out, snapping me back to reality. My book flipped open, the teacher's magic controlling it effortlessly.
"Uh-oh, yes!" I blurted out nervously. I cleared my throat and read aloud.
"In the year 2000, the Anomalous Magic side had a powerful leader named Luis Matisse, whose reign led to sixteen years of dominance..."
Wait, it’s talking about that Luis guy! My eyes scanned the page eagerly.
"Until something unexpected happened. In the year 2016, Luis Matisse vanished without a trace. His disappearance marked the beginning of Controlled Magic's victories."
I shut my mouth after finishing the passage and sat down elegantly. My teacher nodded approvingly, continuing her lecture with a grin. So... Luis Matisse was a leader? No wonder Asuka's teacher was so shocked. But why is he back now? What does he want?
