Mr. Shue had gotten sick. The next glee club rehearsal, they were left without a teacher. Rachel took this opportunity and strolled right up to the board. "Class!" Rachel says, after she done writing 'Me' on the white board, "In Mr. Schuester's absence, I'd like to go around and ask everyone what solos they'd like to hear me perform at Sectionals." Before Venus could even comprehend what was happening, she heard Santana from behind her, prompting her to hide into Arties shoulder, "All right, you know what? Let me at her!" Santana screams, prompting Sam to hold her back, "¡Tú eres loca!" Santana yells, as Rachel screams at the front of the room.**************************************************************************************************
Kurt had found a substitute and Puck had dragged Venus with him to the choir room. He pulls out a stick of butter and hands it to her, "Nice thinking Puckerman." She tells him, impressed. "Of course. I know all the ways to prank a substitute." He says, cockily. "Dude, what are you doing?" Finn says as he walks in. "Kurt got us a substitute, so I'm buttering the floor." Puck tells him. "But sectionals is, like, two weeks from now." Finn states the obvious. "Oh my god! No way!" Venus says, sarcastically. Finn rolls his eyes at her.
"Hey, Gigantor. We're all gonna swap names, yo." Artie says from beside Mercedes. "Um, did I hear something about a substitu?!-?" Rachel exclaims as she walks in the room, slipping, not noticing the buttered floor. "Yes! It works!" Puck exclaims as he high fives Venus. "Well, at least I didn't fall and break my talent. I'm fine." Rachel says as she gets up and straightens out her hair. A blonde woman in a skirt that Venus would love to own, slid across the buttered floor in heeled boots.
"Oh, what the hell?" Artie asks. "Hola, clase. Nothing says 'bienvenidos' quite like a buttered floor." She says as Kurt falls behind her, "Let's start with some introductions. My name is Holly Holliday. What's yours? Go." She says as she snaps and looks at Puck. "I'm Finn Hudson. I'm quarterback of the football team." Puck says in a dopey voice. "I'm Rachel Berry, his loud, loud girlfriend." Santana raises her hand, not even trying to make an impression of Rachel. "I'm Mike Chang." Brittany says, Mike nodding in agreement in the back of the room. "I'm Artie Abrams yo." Venus says, waving her hand like he usually does.
"Those aren't your names. You know why I know that?" Holly asks. "You're psychic?" Brittany immediately responds. "I know this because I recently watched a video of you guys performing at regionals, where you came in last. Maybe it's because the songs were about 30 years old, but..." She trails off. "Those songs are classics." Finn defends, and Holly turns towards him. "Those songs are amazing. But they sounded like somebody else's favorite songs. Not yours. Just sayin'." She says as she turns back around. "She speaks the truth." Brittany says.
"I'm not your average, run-of-the-mill substitute teacher. I want you guys to do things that you want to do. I want you to have fun in our fabulous but fleeting time together. What do you say we have class outside today?" Holly asks them. "It's raining outside." Mercedees says as she points behind her. "Well, then let's take a field trip to Taco Bell." Holly says, and everyone cheers. "Should we take up some medical-grade marijuana? I wish."
"It's really hard not to like this woman." Finn says to Venus. "Okay, no. We can't just goof off all day. We have to write a set list for sectionals." Rachel says from beside Mike. He sends Venus a pleading look, and she just shrugs at him. "You're right. What songs would you like to do?" Holly asks. "Heathers!" Venus shouts out from beside Finn and Puck. Everyone looks at her and she hides her face in Finn's shoulder. "Ms. Holliday is right. Mr. Schuester's setlist sometimes seems like he hasn't listened to the radio since the '80s." Kurt says as he finally goes to a seat.
"He never listens to what I have to say." Puck says. Venus nods her head to agree with him. "I asked him to do 'Forget You' last week and he responded with another Journey song." He continues "Cee-Lo!" Holly snaps her fingers in excitement. "That's what I'm talking about!" She exclaims. "Okay, excuse me? What would you know about Cee-Lo? 'Cause you're like, 40." Santana sasses. "Top 40, sweet cheeks. Hit it!"

When Mr. Shue walks in and everyone cheers him on, happy he's back. "All right, all right, thank you very much, guys. Please, please, sit down. Just... Thank you... For that and... and for all the kind words you said about me to Sue. The feelings are mutual. Now, we gotta get crackin', though. We lost a few days there, and it's all gonna be about focus and hard work for the next couple of days." He says to them. "I guess Ms. Holliday really is gone." Puck says from behind Mike and Tina.
"I know you guys liked her, and she was a lot of fun, but she and I both agreed that this is what was best." Mr. Shue tells them. "Don't get us wrong, Mr. Shue, we always wanted you as our teacher. She was just kind of a nice break." Tina tells him. "She did loosen us up." Quinn adds on from beside Sam. "And she actually had some good ideas for a sub." Artie says, Venus's head on his shoulder. "Yeah. I get it. And maybe we can, uh, incorporate those... after sectionals. Now, when I'm sick, there is only one thing that makes me feel better." Mr. Shue says, handing out music sheets. "Gin and juice." Artie says, Venus smacking his chest, "What?" He mutters.
"No. Singin' in the rain. I must've watched it, like, ten times over the past three days. It's actually what inspired me to try this out as a contender for our first song at sectionals." Mr. Shue tells them. "Oo, I love singing in the rain! 'Singing in the rain. I'm singing in the rain'." Venus sings. "When is the song from?" Sam asks. "Well, the movie opened in 1952. But-but... but it's... But it's really timeless." They all look at him unimpressed, except for Venus, who is excited for the number, wiggling in her seat.

Putting on her costume, Venus looks at herself in the mirror. "Damn, I look fiiine," She says to no one in particular. "Yeah you do," Someone says from behind her. She jumps and turns around to see Santana standing there with her arms crossed. "T-thanks, you too" Venus says to her, Santana smiles at her before she goes serious, "Okay I'm just going to come out and say it. You're dating trouty mouth aren't you?" The question caught Venus off guard. She doesn't say anything, and avoids eye contact with her. "So I'm right? My Mexican third eye never lies." Santana says. "Y-yeah," Venus responds. "Since when?" Santana asks. "Since he dislocated his shoulder," She responds. "Dang, that long?" Santana asks. Venus just nods her head.
"You do know that Quinns got her eye on him right?" Santana asks her. "Yeah, I know." She answers. "And whatever Quinn wants she gets." Santana says. "I know. It's up to Sam if he likes her or not." Venus says. "Trust me, he doesn't like Quinn. He looks at you like a love sick puppy and it makes me sick to look at." Santana reassures her. Venus looks at her with a smile. Santana holds her arm out, "Come with me to the auditorium?" She softly asks. Venus hesitates before she walks up to her. She raises her arm hesitantly, and pauses, taking a deep breath, and hooks their arms together. Venus breathes out a breath of relief and relaxes, putting her trust in Santana.

After the performance, when everyone was gone, Venus goes up to Sam, "You look so sexy Sam-I-Am." She tells him, "I couldn't keep my eyes off of you." She continues, running her hands over his chest, playing with his vest. "You look sexy too, V," He responds, putting his hand on her waist, pulling her in. "Look so good in a suit," He whispers in her ear, sending butterflies in her stomach. She pulls away and takes his hat, and puts it on. She kicks the water, splashing him. He looks at her surprised, "Hey!" He yells, kicking it back at her. "Hey!" She yelps back at him. They both pause for a moment, waiting for the other to do something, when Sam leaps at her, chasing the now screaming Venus around the auditorium.
