"Venus Smith! Our viewers have demanded info on your relationship with Sam Evans aka Trouty Mouth aka Hobo Mcbieber!" Jacob Ben Israel finally managed to corner Venus, who had managed to not have a run in with him all last year. "Come on!" He continued to press her until she gave in. "Me and Sam aren't together anymore. We broke up because he wanted to get settled in and to focus on helping his family first, which I completely understand. When he does, me and him are getting together again." Venus explains.
"How do you feel about the break up?" JBI asks. "Well, I'm a little sad, but that's what happens when the love of your life moves away and you cant see them anymore." She tells him. The bell rings signaling her to go to class. "I've got to go. Don't want to be late to class, y'know." She says, pointing at the bell. She rushes away before he can say anything else.

Getting twelve place made Mr. Schue do a lot of thinking. He was setting up all their trophies in the middle of the choir room floor, when Venus came in, totally unaware, and tripped over one of them. She had managed to catch herself but not before hitting her knee. "Ow." Venus says, rubbing her knee. "Oh! I'm sorry. Are you okay?" Mr. Schue says, helping her up. "Yeah, I'm okay." She tells him, straightening her clothes.
She walks to her chair with a limp sitting down. "Are you sure?" He asks again. She gives him a thumbs up. "Mr. Schue, why are all of our trophies in the middle of the room?" Tina asks him. "I was sure that our Nationals trophy would grow during the summer." Brittany says. "I want this image burned into your mind. This is what the difference between first and 12th place looks like. It's also what it feels like." Mr. Schue tells them.
"Are you planning on bumming us out all year long?" Puck asks, groaning. "No, I'm planning on pushing you harder than you've ever been pushed. We made it to Nationals last year and this year I'm not gonna let anything or anyone stop us from winning it all. I let you down last year. I lost focus. I let a Broadway pipedream get in the way." Mr. Schue tells them.
"And we're really sorry that the guy who replaced you in April Rhodes' musical won the Tony. I can only imagine your regret." Rachel shouts out, not reading the room. "Yeah, and you know what I regret? Being the laughing stock of the show choir world." Mercedes shoots back, glaring at the back of Rachel's head. "That's saying something."
Nodding in agreement, Kurt was quick to back her up. "Mercedes has a point. Finn and Rachel's 'the kiss that missed' already has twenty thousand views on YouTube and the comments section is filled with pithy banter like 'why's that T-Rex eating the Jew?'" Ignoring Venus giggling, Finn wrapped an arm around Rachel. "How many times do we have to apologize?" He asks. "Many times." Venus says, stopping her giggling. Finn shoots her a glare and she holds up her hands in defense.
"The school hates us even more now." Mike points out. Pointing to him in agreement, Mr Schue nods. "Which is why we have to work even harder this year to recruit new members. We're three men down." He tells them. "Yeah only because Puckerman couldn't convince Zizes to stay." Santana says, giving his chair a kick. Letting out a sigh, Puck shrugged his shoulders with a sad smile. "She's the one who got away, really, really slowly." He says.
"What about Venus? She couldn't hold onto Sa-'' He's interrupted by Venus, who shoots him a glare. "Shut up. Don't even finish that sentence." She says. "Where's Quinn?" Tina asks, getting the attention away from Venus. "M.I.A." Artie answers sadly. "No ones heard from her. It's sad, I miss her." He says. "People will join. All they need is a little inspiration and I happen to have some, courtesy of Al Motta of Motta's Pianos." Pointing with his marker towards the door, Mr Schue gave a nod, and three purple pianos were wheeled in.
