Artie and Venus wheel down the hall. They had been spending more time together as of late. As they were talking, they were interrupted by the football team. "So I was going through my bucket list and I noticed you were the only glee loser I haven't slushied yet." Azimio starts, looking at Artie with a grin. "Damn near broke his heart." Karofsky adds. Out of quick thinking, Artie spoke up, "What about the moral implications of abusing a kid in a wheelchair?""I say equal opportunity for all." Azimio laughs, unapologetically. As Venus sees them about to throw their slushies at Artie, she does the first thing that crosses her mind, she covers him with her body. She feels a pull on her shoulder, "Hey, move out of the way!" Someone yells at her, she can't tell, because all she can focus on is trying to hold on tight to Artie. "Whatever!" The same person yells, continuing throwing their slushies. When Venus doesn't feel any more slushies being thrown, she sits up and looks down at Artie, "Are you okay?" She asks him. "Am I okay? Are you okay?" He asks her. "Yeah, I'm okay," She tells him. "You didn't have to do that," He tells her. "I'd do it again in a heartbeat," She says, "Let's go to Glee."
"Oh my god V!" Tina is the first person to notice them wheel in. When Sam hears Venus' name he stands up and looks over towards the door. Venus is still in Arties lap, drenched. "Im okay," She tells them, but no one believes her. "Screw rehearsal, this ends now!" Finn yells, storming towards the door. "We're gonna go all thunderdome on those guys!" Puck shouts, angrily. Just as they got to the door, the football players walked in. They looked around smugly, "So this is what the ladies lounge looks like from the inside." One of the football players mocks. "This is the choir room. Now put your fists up because you and I are gonna do some dancing." Sam says, taking a step forward. "No, I got this Sam." Finn says, pushing Sam behind him, Sam pushes his hand away with a glare.
"Coach Beiste told us to come, where is she?" Karofsky asks them. Coming up behind them, Coach Beiste and Mr Schue manage to get everyone sat down in a seat. Clapping his hands together, Mr Schue let out a sigh, before introducing the assignment, "Alright New Directions, give a warm welcome to our newest members of glee club." Almost instantly, the room filled with shouts of protest. "Are you serious? Those are the guys who made Kurt transfer!" Finn yells. "And I'm not sharing the choir room with a known homophobe." Rachel calls out, and the whole glee club agrees with her, nodding along
"I don't disagree with you guys," Mr Schue tells them, "But Coach Beiste and I talked and we both agreed that the kind of bullying that David does is born out of ignorance. Having him here, as difficult as it may be for us, is an opportunity to show the rest of the guys that being in glee club is kinda cool, find some common ground." Mr. Schue finishes. "All of you guys will be in the glee club for one week, no exceptions," Coach Beiste explains to the football team. Scoffing, Karofsky rolls his eyes towards his team, "She's bluffing! Next week is the championship game. Without us, she has no team." He says. "With you I have no team!" Coach Beiste yells, "You guys have gotta find a way to come together or we're going to get our asses kicked from here until Tuesday finds a saddlebag full of buckwheat."
"If I have to stay, I'm not singing no show tunes. That is the music of my oppressors." Azimio speaks up after a confused silence. "Do you even have any idea what we do in here?" Finn says, irritated. "No, they don't. That's why we have to show them. Puck, Rachel, haven't you been working on something?" Mr. Schue asks. With a nod, Rachel stands up, "Fine. Offended as I am by their presence, I won't let anyone get in the way of a performance."
Need You Now - Rachel - Puck
While they were singing, Venus turns to Sam and mouths the words dramatically to him. He copies her and moves his hands dramatically. "The girl with the Mohawk had a nice voice." The same football player from earlier calls out smugly.
