Finn had seen the face of Jesus in his grilled cheese. He had prayed and asked to win the football game, which they had. Venus is cheering in the stands with Finns' and Sams' jersey numbers on her cheek, when she hears Finn yell 'thank you Grilled Cheesus!" Don't ask her how she heard him, she thinks she has like, super hearing or something. She stands by the door of the locker room and waits for him to come out.

When he does come out, it's by himself and he doesn't seem to see her. "So... who's Grilled Cheesus?" He jumps and turns toward her with his hand over his heart. "Jesus! I think my heart just jumped out of my body!" He looks down at her, breathing heavily. She just looks at him with her arms crossed over her chest and an eyebrow raised. "Who's Grilled Cheesus?" She asked again. "Oh! Um-no one!" He says nervously. She just looks at him unimpressed.

He gives in and brings her to his locker. He puts his body in front of it so she couldn't peek. He turns around with something in his hand but doesn't show her yet. "Do you promise to not make fun of me?" He asks her. She's too excited to wait anymore. "Yes! I promise!" She exclaimed with her pinky held out, waiting for it to be intertwined with his. He wraps his around hers and shows what's in his hand. It's a grilled cheese sandwich. She looks up at him with furrowed eyebrows, "Why did you thank a grilled cheese?"

"Look closer," he says. She takes a closer look, observing more thoroughly. "Why is Jesus' face on it?" 'Oh' She looks up at him again. "Grilled Cheesus!" She exclaims. "That makes more sense." She says, snapping her fingers. She pauses, "Why were you thanking Grilled Cheesus?" She asks, confusion clearly on her face. "I prayed to him and asked him if we could win the game, and we did!" He answers. She looks down at the grilled cheese in awe. "Cool!" she says.

"Can I pray for something too?" She asks looking back up at him. "Sure," He says, shrugging. Venus looks down at Grilled Cheesus and closes her eyes. 'Can I have a boyfriend that cares about me?' It was the first thing that popped up in her mind. She opens her eyes and smiles up at Finn with a smile. " You won't tell anyone about this will you?" He asks with a worried look on his face. "I swear, on Grilled Cheesus, that I won't tell anyone." She says with a raised hand and the other one crossing a cross on her heart. He nods.

Sam had invited her to the game. While she's in the stands watching them, she sees a big guy come and tackle Sam. He laid there motionless on the ground. She stands up as she sees Finn go over to them and listens closely. "His shoulders' dislocated," she hears from someone. As soon as she hears it and watches them take Sam to the ER, she gets up and goes to follow. She also hears that Finn is going to be the quarterback again. She spots him and gives him a thumbs up when he spots her. He looks guilty at her but she doesn't have any time to think about that. She continues on her path to follow them. She rushes to the ambulance and sees them loading Sam in. She sees an EMT and goes up to her, "Can I come with him please?" She asks in a frantic tone.

"Are you related to him?" the EMT asks. "N-no," Venus replies. "Then you can't go. Sorry kid," The EMT says, turning to get into the ambulance. "I-i'm his girlfriend!" Venus blurts out. The EMT looks at her for a moment then turns to look at Sam. Venus gets a look at him. He's laying down on a stretcher, face screwed up in pain. "This your girlfriend?" She asks Sam, pointing a thumb at Venus. Sam looks at the EMT then looks where she's pointing. He spots Venus and sees her looking panicked. "U-um- yeah." He says looking back at the EMT. The EMT looks at Venus and rushes her into the ambulance. Venus sits next to Sam and takes his good hand. He looks up at her with a smile and squeezes her hand.

When Sam is in a room and allowed to have visitors, Venus goes to visit him. There's a nurse in his room when she quietly knocks on the door. The nurse leaves the room, done with everything that needs to be done, leaving Venus and Sam alone. Venus follows the nurse with her gaze and puts her head out the door to see if she's far enough from the room, before she brings her head back to Sam.

Sam looks at her for a moment before scooting over and patting the bed, gesturing for her to sit by him. She walks over and sits down looking up at him. "How's it feeling?" she asks, gesturing to his shoulder. He looks down at it and back up at her and shrugs with his good shoulder. "I don't really feel anything at the moment. I mean, it doesn't really hurt."

"Well that's good," She says. He looks at her and smiles, he's glad to know she cares about him. "You told them you were my girlfriend." He says, teasing her. She blushes, knowing she was caught. "I didn't think you'd remember." She says, not meeting his eyes. "Did you mean it?" He asks in a soft voice. Startled he asked, Venus meets his eyes. She looks in his eyes and sees he's nervous and sincere and not teasing anymore.

"Maybe," She says, whispering, drawn into his eyes, "Do you want me to mean it?" She asks, still whispering. "Maybe," He says, also whispering. She catches his eyes fluttering down to her lips, and she does the same. He's waiting for her to make the okay, she realizes. She makes the first move and inches closer. He also moves closer, enough that their noses start touching. "Is this okay?" He asks, still whispering, not wanting to break the atmosphere they've made. She looks into his eyes and nods. He closes the gap.

When people say that they feel fireworks go off when they kiss the one they're meant to be with, they were lying, or maybe it's different for everyone, because Venus sees fireflies in a field. She's in her happy space she realizes, in a field, at night, with a single lamp post for light, under a tree with a light breeze with fireflies all around her, and when she looks up, the planets are large, it's like she can touch them, she can't, she's tried. There's something different about when she usually comes here though. Usually she's here alone, because it's her subconscious, but when she hears someone shift next to her, she turns and sees Sam looking around in awe. "Sam?" She asks, confused, in a whisper. Sam slightly jumps and looks at her, and she realizes he looks alot older. "So this is what she meant," he mutters to himself.

She looks at him in confusion, "How old are you?" She asks him. He thinks for a second, "25? I think?" He says, scratching his facial hair. "Okay," Venus says softly. She looks back at the planets to calm herself down, and assess the situation. She always knew she could do this, but she's never tried it before. "How are you here?" She asks him in a soft voice, still looking at the planets. Instead of answering he points at one of the planets, "Mercury, planet of communication, intellect, memory, and... transportation?" He says. She looks at him in shock. "Is that right?" He asks, looking at her. She looks at him for a moment before nodding at him. He closes his eyes and pumps his fist, "Yes! V is gonna be so proud of me." He says, excitedly.

"I'm glad we're still close in the future." She says softly, looking at him. "Oh, we are closer than you think." He says. She looks at him confused before feeling a tugging feeling in her chest. It wasn't painful though. When she opens her eyes - when had she closed her eyes? - she sees Sam, her Sam, young and bright blonde hair, with a sling still on his arm. She thinks of the older one and what he said and smiles, pulling back.

"Do you want to be my girlfriend?-"

"Do you want to be my boyfriend?-" They look at each other with small smiles on their faces.

"Yes."
