Puck was in juvie and no one really was surprised, except Venus. She had gotten closer to him over the summer and they are really good friends. He trusted her enough to show a side that no one really saw. She helped him with homework, and he watched Full House with her. He was getting better, but she guessed that he just couldn't resist the urge to get in trouble.
"What did he do?" Quinn asks, astonished. "He drove his mom's Volvo through the front of a convenience store, and drove off with the ATM." Mr. Shue answers. Venus just sat there shocked. "A-A-And when is he getting out?" Rachel asks."Unknown." Mr Schue stated. "He might just be the stupidest person on the planet, and that's coming from me." Brittany says, with a laugh."Guys!" Mr. Shue exclaims, "Let's have some sympathy."
"For a guy who puts his needs before the team's?" Finn cut in angrily, "We need his voice and his bad-boy stage presence." Mr. Shue shook his head. "We can't look at this as-as a crisis. It's an opportunity." Mr. Shue stated. "For what? Further humiliation and embarrassment?" Quinn says, leaning forward in her seat. "For welcoming our newest member... Sam Evans!" Mr. Shue exclaims, pointing towards the right doors.
Sam waltzes through the door, a big smile on his face. Venus, already knowing this, looks around for the other's reaction. She spots Quinn looking at Sam with an intense look, and not a good one. This is the one you make when you see someone attractive. She feels her stomach drop a little bit, so she turns to look back at Sam. When she turns her head, she sees him already looking at her with a big grin. She smiles back and gives him a thumb up.
"Hey everybody! I'm Sam. Sam... I am. And I don't like green eggs and ham." Venus looks at him with the biggest smile she could muster, happy that he used what she calls him. "Yay! Sam-I-Am!" Venus says, quietly cheering. "Oh wow, he has no game." Santana mumbled. Not knowing how to respond, Sam's smile faltered for a second, looking at Venus for reassurance, getting a shake of the head, her not agreeing with Santana. Getting up from his seat, Finn sticks his hand out for Sam to shake, "Okay! This is gonna be great! You're not gonna regret joining, Sam."
Taking a seat between Finn and Venus, Sam immediately turned his head to her as Mr Schue began talking about duets. "Welcome... to loser club. I'll be your personal guide. My name is Venus, like the planet." Venus says in a guide impression, shaking his hand. "My name is Sam, but you can call me... anytime." Sam says in a flirty tone. "Are you single Sam?" Venus asks, still in her role. "Nope!" Sam says. "I have a loving girlfriend, sorry," He says, unapologetically to Guide Venus. "Well snap!" She says, snapping her fingers. "Oh would you look at the time, I have to go," She says, as she looks at her wrist where the imaginary watch was. She turns around and turns back,
"Who was that?" she asks, poking him in the arm. "Who was who?" He feigns innocence. "That beautiful guide." She says with her arms crossed. "Eh she wasn't that pretty," he says, shrugging his shoulders, "You're the only beautiful person I see." He says. She looks up at him and giggles quietly. 'Be my-his duet partner. Quickly,' A voice inside Venus' head says. 'The older Sam', she realizes. "Be my duet partner?" She asks him. "Of course." He responds

"He's gay you know. Let me be his partner, please." Kurt says to Venus at her locker. Venus looks at him, "Um- no." She didn't really like Kurt, although she doesn't really know why. He just always got on her nerves for some reason. "I've got to go, bye," she says to him. She turns around and walks away from him. She notices Sam walk out of the locker room and goes up to him. Before she can get to him though, Karofsky and Azimio get to him first and throw red slushies at him. She feels herself gasp. "Welcome to glee club lady lips," Azimio taunts him. She sees Quinn walk slowly to him, so Venus picks up her pace and reaches him before Quinn does. She takes his hand and goes to the bathroom.
"You should be glad you didnt get the blueberry flavored slushy. They stain so badly, that I looked like Avatar down there," Venus says, watching him put his head under the faucet. He comes up from the water and looks at her. She grabs the towel on the sink and dries his face off. "I saw Avatar, like, six times." He says. "Me too! Exactly six too." Venus says back to him. He smiles at her, "Lor menari," He says. "Nga yawne lu oer," She says back. His eyes light up and he smiles at her. "You're the coolest girlfriend ever!" He says. "Irayo," She says shyly.

In the science room, Sam and Venus walk around the room. "That one is Mars, planet of war," Sam says proudly, pointing up at a planet. When he doesn't hear her say anything, he looks at her, only to see her looking at him with adoration. "God, I love you. How do you know that?" Venus asks him. "I love astronomy. Something about all that space makes all my problems seem small. That one is Venus, planet of love." Sam says pointing to the planet. Venus feels like she could just melt, hearing him say that. "That one is Mercury, planet of communication, intellect, memory, and... transportation." She says to him, pointing at the planet, before cutting off, thinking of older Sam. "Which one are we on?" He asks. "Earth, or Gaia – Mother Earth, it's not really a planet of anything, except if you want to say 'Earth, planet of life', Anyways, we're getting off track. Duet songs! What are you thinking of?" She says looking at him. "How bout 'Lucky' by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat?"
"Sure." She says, shrugging her shoulders. "And choreography?" She asks. "Here, come over here." He calls her over to where he was, holding his guitar. "Did I ever tell you how hot you are when you play the guitar?" She says, looking up at him, fluttering her eyes playfully. Sam tilts her chin up and kisses her. "Did I ever tell you how hot you are?" Sam says back. "We're both hot. Just the facts." Venus says, kissing him again. Sam smiles into the kiss, making Venus do the same. "Alright, let's work on this." Sam says, getting them back on track.

While watching the duet that Finn and Rachel did, Venus was literally cringing in on herself. She hid her face in Sams' shoulder, just so she wouldn't look at it. When it ends, Mike hesitantly claps before Tina stops him. "Okay, do I really need to say it," Mercedes says as soon as the music stops. "That was really rude." Sam adds. "It was, like, really rude." Tina says. "I seriously wanted to punch both of you." Quinn says, from beside Sam. As they talk to Finn and Rachel, Sam looks over to Venus, "You ready!"
"Yep, just a little nervous." Venus replies. "You're gonna do great, V." Sam says to her. She nods at him with a smile. "You are too," She says back to him. He grabs her hand and places a kiss on the back of it, calming her down a little bit. "Thanks Sam-I-Am." She whispers to him. "You're welcome V."
"Well, getting back on track. Who's next?" Mr. Shue asks. Sam and Venus look at each other, before standing up and going to the front of the room, and Sam gets his guitar. " Okay, I just wanna say I'm really excited, and that I couldn't have asked for a better partner." Venus sees Quinn rolling her eyes, and Kurt looking sad. Sam starts playing the guitar, starting the song.

When the song ends, Venus and Sam look at each other with big dopy grins. Venus sees Finn give them a thumbs up

When voting came, Venus and Sam won the Dinner for Two coupon for Breadsticks. "You know, I don't really like Breadsticks" Venus tells Sam. Sam looks at her from across the table. "I thought everyone here liked Breadsticks?" Sam says. Venus just shrugs. "Well not me. The breadsticks are crunchy, and I like soft breadsticks, and besides, the food here doesn't really taste that good." Venus tells him. Now that Sam thinks about it, the food doesn't really taste that good. "Okay, if I were to take you on a date, where would you choose to go?" Sam asks her. She tilts her head for a little bit before answering, "Maybe a picnic at a park at night. That way there's no bugs."
"Noted," Sam says to her. She looks at him with a smile and reaches for his hand across the table. "You are the best boyfriend ever." She says to him. He smiles at her and squeezes her hand. "You are the best boyfriend too." He says to her . She laughs at him and goes back to eating.
