The New Directions all sat glumly in the choir room, hearing the news of Mercedes leaving to join Shelby's new girl group. "You know what girl Chang? If you cry every time someone gets a hangnail, it starts to lose its effect." Santana says, fed up, rolling her eyes, falling back into her chair. "It's not a hangnail." Tina sniffs. "Mercedes was one of glee's original members, I feel naked in here without her." Tina says. "Yeah, well get used to it, cause without her singing for us we're gonna have to perform naked for the judges to vote for us at sectionals!" Puck sighs.

"Wanky." Venus says, Santana high fiving her. "No, I will not let this setback crush our spirits!" Mr. Schue sighs. "We've had worse setbacks than this." He tells them. "Worse than losing one of our best singers?" Mike asks. "It's kinda hard not to blame you Mr. Schue." Quinn accuses. "I think you were too harsh on her at booty camp." She tells him. "I blame Artie." Tina buts in. "Why couldn't you have just given Maria to Mercedes?"

"Because that would've damaged my integrity as an artist." Artie explains. Just then, Rachel walks in, swinging her arms. "Sorry I am late, I was putting up posters for my campaign." She smiles until she catches Kurt's glance. "Did you airbrush out your jowls?!" Kurt asks harshly. "No!" Rachel says back. "Let's stop it everyone!" Finn shouts, quieting them. "So we lost a singer, so they canceled the musical..." As soon as the words left his mouth, Rachel shot up, outrage. "What! No no no! You can't cancel my musical!" She screams, devastated.

Venus grabs her pencil case, picking out a pencil top eraser, and throwing it at her head. "Ooo! Headshot!" She says, pumping her fist. Rachel looks at Venus in shock, touching her head where it hit. "Sue cut the funding." Mike explains, getting Rachels' attention. "The point is, we shouldn't be turning against each other right now." Finn says, sighing. "I agree!" Blaine pipes up, "I can only speak from my experience with the warblers, but no show choir is just one person, when we lost a warbler, we just replaced him with another one." Blaine explains.

"Easy when your waiting list has a waiting list." Finn spat, his jealousy clear. "Dude, I know you're a big deal at dalton or whatever but we don't wear blazers here, so have a seat, I'm trying to give a pep talk." Venus grabs another eraser and throws it at the back of his head. Blaine looks hurt by Finn's outburst, feeling picked on, "Didn't you just say something about us not turning on each other?" He mutters. "No! You can't cancel my musical, okay?! I was considering changing my name to Maria!" Rachel yells, distressed. Venus throws another eraser at her. "Would you stop that!" Rachel yells at her. "Not until you stop being annoying." Venus tells her.

"The musical is not canceled!" Mr Schue sighs, frustrated. "As for Mercedes, yes, that's a huge loss, but we'll deal with replacing her later. Right now we need to focus on putting on this musical!" Mr.Schue says. "How?" Venus asks. Mr Schue explains his idea of selling ads. He tells them to spread out and find ideas, as they leave. "And guys, I don't care what Sue does or who leaves us, everyone's dreams in this group are gonna come true this year." Mr Schue adds. "Yeah, okay." Venus says, scoffing.

After Blaine's fun performance of 'Last Friday Night', the happy mood in the choir room finally returned after a depressing week. However, when Rachel suggested that the number could be done for Sectionals with Blaine on the lead, Santana had finally had enough and decided to voice her opinions. "So...no concerns about showcasing any other voices this year at competitions?"

"Oh, come on, Santana." Mr. Schue replies. "You were featured at last year's Sectionals!" He tells her. "Yeah, I know, and we won!" Santana says. "Oh! You know what, I get it. Since Mercedes is gone, it's going to be the Blaine and Rachel show. We all know it's true!" Santana tells him. "You're being ridiculous." Mr. Schue tells her. "Is she?" Venus questions, causing them to look at her.

"You are prone to have your favorites perform and then not feature anyone else even though the fact is that this room is bursting with talent." She tells him. "Excuse me?" He says, offended. "No. It's true. You always put Finn and Rachel on top and leave us down here to rot. Look, I'm happy with having a small part in a song or even a duet, but the others in here, they don't get the shot to do anything, and it's frustrating. You always play it safe with Finn and Rachel and it hurts us when you choose them everytime over any one of us." She tells him, angrily.

Mr. Schue was about to open his mouth to defend himself but Venus wasn't done yet. "You did the same thing when I wrote that song for me and Sam. You gave Finn and Rachel the song to sing." She says. "But you and Sam sang it at Regionals." He tells her. "Yeah because Finn noticed how sad I was about it! He noticed how wrong it was and he did the right thing as a leader!" Venus yelled at him, standing up. "How about we just sit and calm down." Mr. Schue tells her.

"How about you be a good teacher and actually care about our feelings!" She yells at him, breathing hard. When she realized what she said, she purses her lips and grabs her bag and rushes out of the room. Everything was quiet before they heard clapping, turning to the source. Santana was sitting in her chair, amused. "Congrats. You have officially broken Venus."

Despite her outburst, she still came to rehearsal the next day, sitting in the back of the room. "There's a lot of empty chairs in here." Mike sighs, glumly. "This is awful, this is not the way senior year glee club was supposed to be!" Rachel complains. "Look guys, I know this is gonna be hard, this isn't how I pictured this year either." Mr Schue tells them.

"Then I guess we've got our work cut out for us." Finn says, bringing in a boy, he was in full spirits as he introduced his new friend, Rory, to the new directions. As they listened to him sing, they discovered that he was amazing. Venus shot Rory a thumbs up when he looked around the room nervously.
