Chapter 1: Where they are(Clay)

War. That was the thing clay has been through his entire life, through the moment he was hatched to this current day."I cannot wait to get out of this war, I just want to sit around and eat a cow today instead of training."He said to his younger brother reed."Clay, you want to do that everyday." Said reed pointing out what clay said."Ya well its better than fighting a seawing." He said while grabbing a mountain goat to eat.

Clay and the rest of his siblings, Reed, Pheasant, Umber, Sora ,Crane and Marsh had been through hell fighting against princess blister and blaze.But they knew their leader Princess Burn was 100 times more worse than both of them. All she cared about was war and fighting, something clay and his family did not want.

As soon as clay put the goat in his mouth, his commander shouted."PRIVATE CLAY!" he yelled furiously, clay and reed both turned around and saluted the commander, clay also spat out the goat and it walked away.

"Sir, if its about the fight in the mess hall last night, I can explain."said clay sweating a bit."This ain't about you accidentally throwing a cow into Queen Moorhen's face, She actually enjoyed a free meal. Anywho. The higher ups want you to deliver these battle plans to the skywing's and report back." he said while giving clay the scroll.

"Sigh, looks like were gonna have to be separated again." said clay looking at his brother."Look you'll be there and back before you know it, Il tell the rest where you are, see you soon big bro." said reed hugging his brother.

Clay then spread his wings and took towards the sky kingdom. As he flew over the diamond spray delta, and massive army's of troops. He eventually arrived in the kingdom of the sky. He then landed near the war room and when he entered he saw Princess burn and some of the skywing generals there.

"Ummmm I have the battle plans for your Princess burn." Said clay being terrified of how massive she was."About time useless mudwing, You're lucky I don't throw you into the gladiator pit." Shouted Burn snatching the plans.

 As clay left the war room, he heard commotion coming from the arena, he thought that there might be a fight going on and so he went to go check it out. When he got to the arena he saw that there was an icewing in the middle and prince vermilion was announcing someone. "Now my fellow skywings I give to you, your champion, PERIL! "he shouted out. All of a sudden a skywing with flaming red and orange scales entered the arena, and It looked like she was about to annihilate the icewing.

"LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!" shouted vermilion. Peril then charged up towards the icewing and what clay saw next was something that blew his mind. Peril scratched the icewing and then all of a sudden he burst into flames, he was running around trying to put out the fire, but after a few minutes he fell dead.

"WINNER!" shouted vermilion pointing at peril. The rest of the skywings cheered in victory of their champion."Wow that was fast." said clay staring at peril."Eh not really, the fights are usually this long whenever peril is on the field." said a skywing next to him.

As clay left the arena, he captured the smell of food nearing the gladiator zone, so he went down into it and started sniffing it down. When he got near the dungeon he heard metal clanging and saw peril boxing an armor set.

"Huh nice fight today." said clay walking up to her. Just then she got startled by him and she tail smacked him in the face, but surprisingly he didn't catch fire."Oh god Im sorry I didn't see you there." she said examining where she hit him."Eh its alright, My commander tail whips me all the time." he said rubbing his wound.

"Wait, how come you aren't burning to a crisp like that icewing was?" she asked being surprise how he wasn't on fire."hmm, Oh that, its because I hatched from a blood red egg, which makes us mudwings immune to fire, see." he said tapping her on the wing."Wow, Nobody has ever been able to get even near me without catching fire, impressive." she said while sitting down.

"Ya it can come in handy against rival tribes,Speaking of which. How did you set that icewing ablaze by only touching him?" asked clay."Oh, I got this rare thing called fire scales, It basically means my scales are made of pure fire."Huh, must get lonely here then?" he asked sitting down next to her."Well not really, My mother kestrel and father soar visit me sometimes.(In this what if soar is a real person and is not chameleons illusion, and he is together with kestrel so ya.) Plus Queen scarlet takes care of me, even though I can't leave the palace".

"Ha, your lucky. My sibs and I have to travel across Pyrrhia every day just to fight 1 tribe." You must be lucky to have siblings." said peril."Ya I really am, you got any?" asked clay. "I did once, a little brother named sky, but he passed when I was young." she said pouting a little."Oh Im so sorry to hear that." said clay." Its alright I don't remember him anyways."

"You know, I can visit you whenever, Hog usually sends me on these missions like all the time, Im pretty sure im now a messenger instead of a soldier." clay said looking at her."You know, that would actually be really nice." she said looking at clay. For some reason, they both started to lean towards each other, but before they could get to close. A skywing came up out of nowhere.

"Oy mudwing, Scarlet is sending all the soldiers to the front, A seawing raiding party showed up and are attacking, MOVE IT!" he yelled running to the stairs."Well that's my cue to go, I guess Il see you next time?" he said looking at peril."Ya, and next time you could see me win again." she said snicking.

Clay then jolted to the stairs and came out of the pit, there he flew towards where the battle was happening, although this battle unlike any other, would change his life forever.
