Chapter 13: Welcome home

The dragonets finally reached the desert kingdom, but they were miserable."UGH! It's so hot here, is there any water nearby?" cried out Tsunami while being dehydrated."Oh cmon its not that bad Tsunami, Ive been here my entire life and I love it here." said Sunny while doing a loop-da-loop.

"Exactly, you're a sandwing you love this kind of weather." said Glory. The gang was then about to pass out when Starflight said."Look an oasis, we're saved."They then dived down towards the oasis and then went to drink the entire lake water source dry.

Sunny then grabbed one of the fruits growing on the trees and opened it, planting the seeds inside it."Why are you doing that?" asked Clay."Because,It is respectable to give something back after we take something from it." said Sunny."That is very interesting." said Starflight.Sunny blushed a tiny bit and said "Thanks."

But then they heard something."What was that?" asked Glory."Probably just a meerkat or something." said Sunny. But then they saw that the sand around them was shifting, like something was underneath it."Oh no, you guys might want to hide for this part." said Sunny.

Suddenly five sand wings with knifes and spears popped out of the sand and surrounded the group, Glory and Tsunami got into fighting position while Clay panicked a bit, Starflight was still being fascinated by them but Sunny then said."Seriously guys, I don't need bodyguards following me around the desert." She then walked up to the giant one who appeared to have a sixth talon, but the dragonets were confused by this.

"Well its not your decision, your mother and father were worried sick about you." said Six-claws."Uhhh Sunny, who is this giant and terrifying dragon?" asked Clay."Oh were are my manners, guys this is Six-claws, fellow Outclaw member and a dear family friend." said Sunny."Wait Outclaw? Aren't they the notorious thief's from the Sand kingdom?" asked Starflight."Ugh will they stop that rumor already, just because we killed five sand wings in that caravan that docent make us Princess Burn." said Addax. The rest of the Outclaws laughed at what he just said.

"Cmon, were taking you back to the den now." said Six-Claws. Sunny then started to follow them while the rest of the gang followed her but the Outclaws put spears."Woah!" yelled Clay backing up. But then Sunny lowered the spear and said."Easy guys, their with me." The Outclaws then lowered there weapons and allowed them to follow them.

The large group then flew for at least half-an hour before reaching the Scorpion den, there they noticed an adult sandwing and nightwing waiting at the gate with the rest of the Outclaws. They then landed and Sunny started to walk towards the dragons.

"Thank moons you're safe Sunny, we were worried sick about you." said Thorn wrapping her wings around her daughter."Oh cmon mom, I was only gone for a few days." said Sunny. While Sunny was enjoying the family reunion, the others were stunned to see who her father was.

"She wasn't lying, her dad really is a nightwing." said Glory."Ya, but that isn't any nightwing,thats Stonemover, the nightwing animus." said Starflight. The others were shocked at what they heard, this was a pretty big detail to leave out. But then one of the sandwings yelled."NIGHTWING!" Suddenly every Outclaw had a spear pointed at Starflight, who was raising his claws in the air.

"Woah woah woah, Qibli what are you doing?!" yelled Sunny at him."Protecting your parents and the den, a nightwing here means trouble for everyone here." said Qibli pointing a knife to his head."Everyone, lower your weapons now, that's an order." said Stonemover taking the knife away from Starflight.

"He's right, this is a time for celebration. Tonight we party!"

And so the Scorpion Den had one of the biggest parties they ever had. There was music and dancers, and tons of food which Clay scarfed down insanely. Everyone was having a great time but Starflight was still bugged by the fact that the nightwing animus was actually alive."So, tell us everything when you were gone." said Thorn

."Well, I met the others and spent the night with them until we got taken by skywings and forced to fight in the arena, then we all broke out and met a skywing who was made of fire and name is Peril, then Glory melted the face of the skywing queen and Im pretty sure we may have caused a disaster. And then we met a nightwing assassin who I think is tacking us down but we escaped him, and we also met Tsunami's boyfriend Riptide and then we got here."

"Wow......You did all that in four days?! Im impressed." said Thorn."And I am worried, if a nightwing assassin is following you, they might find you here at the den." said Stonemover."Oh don't worry, Peril probably took care of him by now." said Clay while holding a drum stick.

 As the fun continued, Starflight walked up to Stonemover and poked him with his tail."Stonemover, can I ask you something?""Oh, sure Starflight." said Stonemover.

The two then walked away from the crowd to have their conversation."So, what's on your mind?" asked Stonemover."Why? Why did you abandon your tribe?" said Starflight. Stonemover then had a grim look on his face, and then he sighed say."I never wanted to abandon the night kingdom, but I couldn't take it anymore."

"Take what anymore?" asked Starflight."The constant torture of Battlewinner, I mean she always used me in the most horrible ways, wasting my magic on useless enchantments, use me as an object. I couldn't take it anymore, that's why I left but I promised myself once this war ends, Id go back home, but Ive realized I am home now." he said while looking at Sunny and Thorn. Starflight was also looking at the two but he was more focused on Sunny.

"You like her, don't you." said Stonemover with a smug look."What, no ew. No offense sir but I met her only a four days ago, Im pretty sure I'm not at that stage yet." said Starflight."Trust me kid, Ive been there before, but love works in strange ways." said Stonemover as he walked away.

AT NIGHT

In the Scorpion Den, everyone was vast asleep expect for two individuals, and thoes two happen to bump into each other.

"Oh Starflight I didn't see you there, what are you doing up this late?" asked Sunny."Well Im a nightwing, I usually stay awake at night." said Starflight"Oh ya, well I was just stretching my wings." said Sunny.

The two of them both awkwardly looked at each other until Starflight said."Hey um, would you like to come stargaze with me? I used to do that back home if the sky was ever clear." said Starflight."Oh, I would love too." said Sunny.

The two then took off away from the den, but a shadowy figure behind them said."Im coming for you my nightwing." said the figure as they began to follow them.
