It took a few weeks, but things began to regain a sense of normalcy. Relationships were still on the raw side of healing, but they were healing nonetheless. Things were nothing like how they were before any of this situation started, but each of the six housemates learned that that was okay. They each had scars they would have to live with, some way deeper than others, but that wouldn't stop their life from continuing.
Things were complicated for a while as Youngjo began properly reintroducing himself to society. The landlady was indeed shocked to see him again, but despite the confusion she welcomed him back with open arms. Long lost accounts were reopened, or whole new ones were created from Youngjo's cover story that seemed rather believable. At least no one seemed to truly care from what Hwanwoong gathered.
After another week or so, Youngjo didn't feel as attached to the strange things happening in his head, feeling more and more control over his body and emotions than before. The red-blue glow in his eyes faded away like an old memory, becoming not as prominent as it once was. There was still the very few occasions where it returned, but in those instances Youngjo still held control over everything, finally winning the war in his head.
"Whatcha drawing?" Hwanwoong slightly startled the older by asking the question after entering their bedroom. He was previously at work and Youngjo wasn't expecting him to be home so soon. Though what he didn't realize was that his time blindness took effect and it actually was the time Hwanwoong was supposed to return.
The shorter tried to catch a glance at the sketchbook but Youngjo acted faster and quickly closed the pages. He smiled up at his boyfriend, kicking his feet off the bed and abandoning his materials. He pulled Hwanwoong into a tight hug, taking him by surprise.
"Are you ever going to show me any of your drawings?" Hwanwoong questioned, trying to pull his upper body away from Youngjo's, finding it difficult from how tight the older held him.
"I'll show you eventually." Youngjo whispered, craning his neck so he could plant a quick kiss against Hwanwoong's cheek. "Just not now....I missed you today."
Hwanwoong smiled, getting on his tippy toes to peck Youngjo's lips. "I'll hold you to that. And I missed you too, but I really think this was good for the both of us."
Youngjo hummed, nodding his head in agreement.
Today was the first time that they've been separated for a hefty amount of time, Hwanwoong going to work by himself instead of Youngjo practically being his second shadow. And as much as they missed each other it was actually very healing to spend a little bit of time on their own, and know the other wouldn't disappear permanently.
"You did a good job in here." Hwanwoong finally broke out of the hug, spinning a few times as he looked at the state of their bedroom. "I like it."
"Oh good, I'm glad." Youngjo responded, also looking around at the decorations and organization he did. "It took a while, but it should make things feel better in here, at least I hope."
Having such a small room and two people living in it had its challenges, but Youngjo and Hwanwoong didn't want it any other way right now. They enjoyed the close proximity and how cozy everything felt. Sure, it was just a mess for a while, which is why Youngjo offered to clean things up and find some new ways to store each of their belongings.
"I'm sure it will. Thank you." Hwanwoong said happily, taking his bag off his shoulders and finally setting it down.
"How was work?" Youngjo asked, cocking his head to the side as if to show his curiosity.
