SASHA'S POV
Sasha walks back and forth, groaning for the nervousness, covering her face behind her hands. She simply can't get quiet: the toads saved the village from the robots' attack and she has been able to save the girl from the house on fire.
Her shoulder is still hurting as fuck but they put bandages on it and now it goes a bit better. But what really makes her mad is that she has just found another human in that crazy place populated by frogs, toads and newts! That's not normal.
Finally she stops herself and she turns to the toads, sitting on the principal square of the village. Just a few frogs survived the battle and everybody is pretty upset. The human girl is sitting on a stone wall, embarrassed, and her gaze is stuck on Sasha.
Sasha sighs and walks closer to her. Grime is already sitting near the girl, confused as Sasha. A villager runs close to them too, grabs Grime's wrist.
-Oh, ehm, toad commander...I mean...sir...- He tries to say but he mutters and stops. Grime snorts, nervous.
-Just call me sir, frog, go on!- The frog flinches but nods.
-Oh, yeah, yeah, sure...for the girl...I mean, it's a complicated story. I know it's a human but we don't know where she is from, we just found her when she was a baby and we didn't want her to die inside the forest...sir.- The frogs explains but Sasha is not really listening to him. She seats near the girl.
-So, little one.- She says, awkward. She has never been good with kids.
-Alpha. My name's Alpha.- The girl says, serious. Sasha clears her throat.
-Right, Alpha. So...as I was saying...why you're here? I mean, you should be in the human's realm. Our home. Not this swamp.- Alpha frowns.
-I've always lived here. What's "human realm"?- Sasha groans.
-The place where we're from! Like, Los Angeles, America...and then we have other continents, an entire Earth! Our world!- She tries to explain but the girl is even more confused. Sasha frowns.
-You don't know the Earth, right? You...were born here. Right?- Alpha nods.
-I've lived here since I remember, warrior.- Sasha flinches as she heards what Alpha called her. She blushes a little.
-I'm not...a warrior. Not yet.- She tries to explain.
-But you're like me! And you have...the gold in your hair.- Alpha says, makes a little smile as she caresses one lock of Sasha's dirty blonde hair.
-You have to see it when it is clean.- Sasha says with a laugh. She holds Alpha in her arms, puts the girl on her lap.
-Are we from the same family? I think you're my brother.- Alpha says and leans her messy haired head on Sasha's shoulders. The girl blushes even more, she'd like to say to Alpha that she's a girl, she can't be her brother. Her sister, if anything. Ugh, it's always fault of her short hair. Everybody is confused at first.
She's about to correct Alpha but something stops her. It's not so bad to be called brother, anyway. Yes, she's a girl...she thinks...but being called brother is something sweet and new for her. She smiles and caresses Alpha's hair. Geez, such a crazy morning.
-Sasha!- Grime comes close to the humans, crosses his arms.
-Soldier, we have to talk about your behaviour in the battle.- He says and he has that tone of voice every teacher has used with Sasha. The you-disappointed-me-because-you-didn't-do-what-I've-said tone of voice. Sasha snorts.
-Please, Grime, you can stop it right here. I know what I did, and I'm happy I did it. The bruise is not hurting anymore and I saved a life so...thanks but I think I did right ok?- Grime rolls his eyes when Sasha talks.
-Fine, son, great! You better listen to me next time.- He growls but Sasha stares stubborn at him, challenging him with her gaze.
-You're incredible!- Grime bursts out in the end, before shaking his head, resigned.
-We can't stay here for too long, Sasha. We have to arrive to Wartwood as fast as we can. TOADS!!!- Grime yells to reach everybody's attention.
-WE'RE MOVING!!- Alpha seems waking up all of sudden because of the shouts, she grabs tighter Sasha's hands.
-Are you going away, Sasha? But...- She makes a little pout.
-Hey, hey, Alpha.- Sasha says, comforting the girl.
-I think you can come with me. Maybe we can find your human parents. What do you think?- Sasha proposes with a smile. Grime hears her and gasps at the idea but says nothing.
Alpha thinks about it in silence, playing distractedly with a little stone of the wall.
-Fine. I'll come with you, brother.- She says in the end, hesitant. Sasha makes her another smile to comfort her and stands up.
-Ok, we're moving now, right, Grime?- She asks, turning to the toad. Grime mumbles something that could be both a "yes" or and insult for Sasha's idea and walks away to the rest of the toad time.
Sasha chuckles and picks up Alpha, the girl hugs her neck to not fall.
-Don't worry, I'll understand where you're from. And I'll bring you to see the human realm! You can't lose it!- Sasha says. Alpha looks at her with her big eyes wide opened for the suprise.
-Thanks, brother!- She says with a little laugh. Leaned at Sasha's shoulders, she quietly falls asleep while Sasha comes closer to the toads.
