SASHA'S POV

Alpha held Sasha's hand for all the journey inside the swamp. Sasha was disgusted at the idea to enter another time inside there but Grime was sure it was the only way.

Now they've been walking for a couple hours and Sasha starts feeling tired. Her bruise on the shoulder has started hurting again because she picked Alpha up a few minutes before.

Sasha clenches her jaw but doesn't complain, he looks ahead to see if the path they're following is leading them somewhere. She is starting thinking it was all useless.

-Grime, you're sure this is the right way?- Sasha asks, reaching for the toad's attention. Grime turns his head behind and frowns.

-Human, relax. Yeah, I'm sure.- He replies, curt. Sasha snorts but doesn't add anything.

-Sash?- Alpha asks, waking up from her sleep. She mutters something while she rubs her tired eyes. Sasha smiles.

-Yeah, Alpha?-

-Where are we going, again?- The little child asks.

-Wartwood. A village. We're going there to seek help, ok? And then we'll save my friends.- Sasha explains to Alpha. She hasn't finished talking yet when a thunder crosses the sky above them. Sasha curses and it starts raining.

-Toads, start running! We're almost there, come on!- Grime roars and all the toads run on the mud and the puddle, against the wind. Sasha's shoulder is hurting as fuck but she runs behind the toad, holding tighter Alpha.

-Fuck this rain!- Sasha curses again, gasps when Alpha chuckles and grabs her tight to not fall in the mud.

It's hard to follow the toads inside that swamp, the rain is so dense that Sasha can see barely a thing, she moves following the rhythmic noises of the toads' steps on the mud.

-Wait for me!- She screams louder and runs faster, finally she exits the swamp behind the toads. She has no breath anymore.

The toads are going down a high hill, Sasha is still on the top. The rain hits the ground less hard than before but Sasha's vision is still blurry.

She runs down the hill behind the toads, directed to the little, brown and green village that must be Wartwood.

-Hold on, Alpha!- Sasha comforts her. She almost slips on a puddle but somehow she's able to not fall. She sways and arrives near the toads, stuck near a bridge.

-Grime, damnit!- Sasha curses and walks to Grime, stops near him. She has to put down Alpha because of the pain at the shoulder. The child grabs her hand and tries to not slip over the mud.

-Sasha, finally you're here. Humans are pretty weak, huh?- Grime teases her with a smirk on his face. Sasha rolls his eyes, bothered.

-I'm not weak, bitch.- She replies, curt, then she glances at the bridge, asking herself why they're not crossing it. Grime seems understanding her thoughts even if she said nothing.

-We have to wait for the permission of the frogs. You know, once we crossed it without permission...ehm...it was a disaster. We're civilized people but someone we love to fight. This time we are trying to avoid a fight.- The toad mumbles, embarrassed.

Sasha groans, she's cold and trembling. Alpha sneezes.

-Fuck it!- Sasha yells out loud and picks again up Alpha. The child is freezing in his arms.

-Why we have to stay here? It's cold...- Alpha complains, sneezing another time. Sasha furrows her brows and looks at Grime.

-You wait here. You toads don't feel the cold and the rain but we do. Don't bother me Grime, I'm searching for a warm refuge for the child.- Sasha says, peremptory, and even Grime can't reply but nod. Sasha crosses the slippery bridge, she walks careful.

-We're almost there, Alpha.- She comforts the child as they enter inside the village. Sadly there is no one around. Sasha snorts.

-Oh, they're all warm and comfy inside their house, damnit. Well...- Her gaze falls on an inn, at the end of the road. It's lightened and fill with laughs and music.

-There!- Sasha smirks, satisfied, then walks fast to the inn and without waiting she enters inside, slamming the main door against the wall.

The music stops all of sudden. Sasha feels a bit at the centre of the attention: every little, coloured frog is looking at her and at Alpha. Sasha clears her throat.

-Hello people.- She says in a trembling tone of voice, she doesn't know if it's for the cold or for the nervousness.

-The fuck you'll are looking at, duh? Just leave us alone!- Sasha bursts out, with a curt and sharp tone of voice that slaps all the frogs. They immediately move their gazes away and Sasha smiles, satisfied.

-You are a human! No, wait. You are two humans!- An old voice calls Sasha from behind right when he has spotted a free seat near the fireplace. Sasha almost growls when she turns behind.

-Yeah, we're human. Is there a problem about that?- She challenges the old frog in front of him.

-No, of course. You're the third human in a couple days.- The old frog says in a breath of relief. Sasha almost drops the poor Alpha down for the surprise. The child has to grab her neck tighter to not fall when Sasha's hold becomes weak.

-What...the third...?- Sasha murmurs. She puts gently but quickly down Alpha.

-Quick, tell me! One is a not so tall, raven haired guy, with big eyes and an intelligent look?- She asks, nervous, almost shaking the frog, grabbing him on the shoulders.

-And the other one is a beautiful, cute and tall girl with really curly hair and...a pretty face...but... Marcy's pretty too. Damnit, that's not the point!- Sasha is almost yelling, she has to know if her girls are safe. The old frog croaks something, confused.

-Yes, Anne and Marcy arrived here... do you know them...?- Sasha doesn't even let him finish.

-WHERE ARE THEY?- She yells, pushes aside the frog.

-At the Plantars' farm.- The frog replies, scared by Sasha's madness.

-AND WHERE IT IS? OH, DANG IT I'LL FIND IT BY MYSELF!!- Sasha yells again, turns his head behind to Alpha.

-Wait me here, sis!- She pleads with her. Alpha nods and Sasha is already out of the inn, inside the storm. She doesn't care anymore about the rain and the wind, all that matters for him is to find her friends.

Luckily for her there's a arrow hang on a wall, pointing for the farm she's looking for. She starts running on the path covered with muddle, she almost slips twice but he never falls.
