NOBODY'S POV
Marcy and Sasha reach Anne as she touches down, flying, surrounded by a lotus of blue light. Anne greets them with a smile and runs towards them to hug both and raising them up. They spin in the air for a second and fall on the ground, laughing. It looks like everything's perfect.
Anne stands up with Marcy and together they hold Sasha's hands. The blonde smirks and blinks in Marcy's direction, making them blush hard.
Anne detaches from the girls just for a second, she grabs Sprig and Jelly right in time when they jumped towards her. She almost falls because the two amphibians are way heavier than what they look like.
Anne laughs almost hysterically. Miles lands down with his robot behind them.
-We did it, Anne! We did it!- Sprig screams, hugging tight her neck and shoulders. Anne hugs him back, feeling the froggy cold skin of her bestie against her cheek.
-You're right Sprig. We won. Together!- Anne stands up again and turns behind to Marcy and Sasha. She proudly raises the music box, tapping the wooden side of it.
-Here we go, girls.- She says with a bittersweet tone of voice. Sasha and Marcy exchange a worried gaze. A mix of feelings trembles between them. Jelly, shy, holds Anne's hand.
-Are you going away, aren't you?- They murmur. Anne feels a choke in her throat but nods, slowly.
-We have to return to our world, Jelly.- She says. The pain passes through her words and her voice trembles for a second. Jelly closes their eyes and hugs Anne's waists tight, another time. Anne smiles, sad, she feels her eyes hurting for the need of crying. She has to hold on the tears.
She caresses Jelly's head and stands up, her knees tremble and she almost fall ahead. Marcy holds her shoulders and gently hugs her from behind. Both of them have no words. Anne knows they're thinking the same, they don't know how to explain it. Will it be the same, when they'll return to the human realm?
Anne places one hand on Marcy's arms, wrapped around her shoulders. She exchange a gaze with Sasha, standing up close to Grime. The blonde makes her a tense, fake smile to comfort Anne a bit. The curly haired girl finds herself crying and rubs away the tears with her hands, bothered.
Marcy detaches from the hug and stretches their arms in the the air. They're crying, too. Before the trio can realise, they're all crying ugly, hugging tight.
-I can't believe it's over.- Marcy sighs, taking the box from Anne's hands. They caress the surface. Anne nods and rubs the back of her neck.
-I guess...maybe it's better off if we end it all now.- Sasha says, making a step behind. She takes the box from Marcy's hands and holds it tight. His fingers are trembling.
-Bye, Anne. See ya...in another world, maybe?- Sprig says, holding Anne's hand for one last time. The little pink frog smiles to her.
-You're a hero, Anne, never forget about it.- He blinks in Sasha and Marcy's direction. -And don't forget to tell them what you need to...- Anne blushed and chuckles. Even if it's all ending for them, she can't help but chuckle at it. Sprig always knows how to cheer her up.
-Thanks, Sprig.- She says, feeling her chest warm. Sprig nods and their fingers detach. The goodbyes don't last any longer. Anne greets the Plantars and Marcy hugs one last time Olivia and Yunnan. Yunnan's so happy Olivia is back to normal, she hugs her with one arm while they both are crying. Yunnan pretends to be not, she dries off the tears with her free hand.
-I wish you all the best, ladies.- Olivia whispers as she hugs Marcy.
Sasha says goodbye to Grime and he fights against the tears. She's so sorry Alpha's not there with them, she wants to hug the little kid one last time. She turns her head to Miles.
-Hey...man...can you make me a favour?- Miles frowns but nods.
-Tell me.- Sasha takes a deep breath, it's hard to talk. She crosses her arms and looks at his feet, stubborn.
-Uhm...say goodbye to Alpha for me. Please.- She whispers. Damn, he doesn't want to cry now! Miles nods.
-I'll do it kid.- He pats Sasha's shoulders. -And...thanks for saving me back in the castle.- Sasha smirks and pretends to be self sure, almost arrogant.
-Of course. That's what heroes do!- He says, tapping her own chest where the heart is.
Then, the three girls places all one hand on the top of the music box. Anne, Sasha and Marcy exchange a last gaze. It's over, they all think, together. They close their eyes as their Powers start shining of all the colours in the world. A strong thunder echoes in their minds and they feel the ground disappearing under their feet.
Anne swears she heard some last words, screamed in the wind, maybe it was Miles. Never forget us, heroes.
Five months later
It's official, Anne and Marcy are dating. Things after them became easier after Amphibia, they felt they belonged to each other till the start. With Sasha, things are a bit different but they're figuring it out. Anne and Sasha are sure they'll be a polyamory relationship soon, they just don't want to put pressure on Marcy.
Anne passed her last exams and was able to not fail the other classes so, now, the summer in front of them is as sweet and relaxing as possible. They're free.
Their Powers didn't work anymore when they returned to the Human Realm but the three didn't feel the loss. Anne realized he didn't need Blue Powers to feel strong and Sasha decided he wanted to be strong for others, not just for herself.
Them three grew up a lot in just five months. After nights and nights spent together cuddling with Anne and remembering their adventures, Marcy's nightmares faded a bit. Anne's presence was important for her healing, even though there's still a lot to do.
Sasha became more gentle, started to let her feelings show more. And he also tried in any ways to come out as bigender to her parents. And he did, helped by Anne and Marcy. It went...good. Its could've been worse, but as long as Anne and Marcy are on her side, Sasha knows he can bear anything.
After they returned to Los Angeles, Anne took the music box with her and put it in her room, on the highest shelf. She still hopes one day it'll shine again and they'll return to Amphibia. To Sprig and the Plantars, Jelly and the other frogs. To Yunnan, Olivia, Alpha and Miles.
Anne knows, tho, that's less than a vane hope, nothing more than a ray of sun through the clouds: it'll never happen.
This is what she's thinking as she stands up from the bed, moves her gaze away from the box and goes to the door. She has to see Marcy and Sasha and she can't wait.
She smiles as the door closes behind her and she goes in the hallway.
Alone, left still on the highest shelf of the bedroom, the music box gently trembles and something shines.
A ray of Blue Light, maybe.

i Hope you've enjoyed reading my story as much as i enjoyed writing it! it was my first long fanfiction about amphibia and who knows? maybe there will be others. right now I've got a lot of projects going on (+school) so I don't really know if I'll write again Amphibia fanfiction :)
