By the time you were 26, Bangtan corporation had become a worldwide movement in the music community. There was the distinctive pop of champagne in the new office building you had built specifically for Bangtan when it was announced that of the top 20 songs on the Billboard chart this month, 15 of them had been produced on RMBase software. It was a phenomenal achievement in less than three years, and you and your brothers were thrilled.
However, there was a very different pop of a much more expensive champagne when your brothers gathered at your little house in Santa Clara with you and you watched the numbers in the Bangtan account roll over to 10 digits.
When it happened there was silence in the house, you certainly weren't sure what was happening, in your own body, let alone, with your brothers. It was Hoseok of all of you who first made the connection and made a loud whoop when he shouted, into the air. Taehyung and Jimin quickly celebrated behind you, with Jin in between the two of them Jungkook wrapped up in all three of them, jumping up and down, exclaiming how excited they were. Namjoon leaned against the wall and stood up when he saw the numbers roll and went into the kitchen to find the bottle of Dom Perignon that he had saved to bring over.
Only Yoongi looked down at you to see you were frozen.
"Livie, this is a happy time," he said quietly. "Why are you not happy right now?"
"Shock. Surprise. A little bit of awe, I think. I don't know I think I'm a little numb."
Yoongi shook his head a little bit and took you by the shoulders and made you turn on your chair until you were facing him
"Livie, we asked before. We haven't asked in a little bit because you wanted us to leave it alone. He's in the other room now. He's being a giant dick. Do you want me to kick his ass right now?"
You had blinked at Yoongi in shock.
"Uhhhhh no? Please don't do that right now."
Yoongi smirked a little bit and leaned in to give you a hug
"OK not right now, but that means I can do it later?"
And this time when you didn't tell him no, for the first time Yoongi began to worry.
After the first billion, the phones rang off the hook. If you had thought that you needed employees before, you went on a hiring spree after. Just the amount of media attention alone was something you needed an entire department for, and you brought in Jin and Lee Minho to make sure that you have the best people to help.
Jungkook ran security for a while until he was able to hire his own team. After that it was a hunt for more developers and specialists in software design. There was a day when you realized that not only did you have your own administrative assistant, but you had a staff of 20 people who helped you with media requests, with development requests, and the many other tasks that filled your day.
It wasn't something you had dreamed of when you and Namjoon had first had this idea all those years ago stuck in the house of those people. You had been so excited to just have the lights and the heat on. And now your own bank account certainly swelled far above a place your parents could only dream of.
It was that thought that kept you going for a while. Because otherwise what you had to focus on in front of you. And that was too difficult to deal with.
Namjoon had hired Emily himself. She worked as his personal assistant, and made every effort to let you know that she meant it in every way possible. Eventually some of your staff figured out that perhaps your relationship with her was not as professional as you pretended it was and they began to work on your behalf to keep you away from her without your realizing it. Something that again, you wouldn't realize until Jungkook pointed it out much later.
