Chapter 20.

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me right. Don't worry, I've packed all the packables in my magic storage-"

Amity screamed and Luz covered her ears.

"YOU WANT TO COME TO MY HOUSE?"

Amity started walking in circles, contemplating how it would work.

"Where would she sleep? She already has her own clothes? What about blankets? Will my parents allow it? What about Ed and Em? Will my-"

Luz held Amity by the shoulder and she looked up at Luz.

"Could you relax? I'm not staying there for long."

Luz opened the door.

"That's if you want me to."

She winked and closed the door and Amity fell down, as red as a tomato and sighed.

She knew very well that she had feelinfs for this girl, and it wouldn't vanish so easily.

Immediately Luz came downstairs, Anna and Zack went to her and started to bombard her with questions with whatever her and Amity did inside her room.

"Nothing happened. I'm just going to stay in her house."

"But she'll obviously want me to stay there till the next day."

Anna rolled her eyes and scoffed and Zack was jubilating.

Amity also came downstairs and Luz opened the door.

"I'll be leaving now."

Anna and Zack waved but Luz paused.

She came back inside and Max was watching television.

"I'd like you to do something for me. Since you're the second oldest in this house, look after Anna and Zack."

"Also do some investigation on TY Fox while i'm gone. I'll be doing some too, so we can compare and combine."

Max nodded and she smiled and patted his head.

They left and Zack locked the door.

Luz entered her house and looked around.

"It's been long since I've entered this house. Shapeshifting into a cat really helped."

Luz looked around in complete surprise on how beautiful this place was, she even complimented it.

They went to Amity's room and immediately, she started to blush.

Amity closed the door and Luz looked around.

"Well, isn't your room pretty. It's very aesthetic, and it matches your abomination powers."

Amity thanked her for the compliment and Luz sat on her bed.

"Wow, I am exhausted!"

Luz gave a sigh and unbuttoned two of her buttons. She swayed her hair back and looked at Amity.

"Are you alright? You've been standing there for a long time."

Amity shook her head and sat down on her bed, close to Luz.

"Are you sure you're alright?"

Amity sighed and started explaining to her.

"That thing you said about my parents divorcing each other... It's been on my mind. I know you meant it as a probability, but I feel it will happen."

"And if I eventually learn the truth, it'll hurt more. I need to learn the truth, but is it really necessary?"

Luz stood up and knelt down in front of Amity, raising one leg and the other on the floor.
