Chapter 23.

(I truly apologize for not writing for such a long time, truly! But hey, Merry Christmas to everyone :) hoping you have a great Christmas!)

As Luz looked at the mirror, she squinted her eyes. She thought she had seen a couple of words in this mirror, but maybe it was her imagination.

But no, it wasn't.

It was a very brief message, and it was more like a command.

"Go to your house, NOW!"

She read out loud and looked at Amity. She didn't want to leave her at all, she knew that she needed someone to comfort her, it was only Luz that could do that.

"But don't missions come first?"

Luz shook her head and sighed.

This was the first time she didn't know what to do. Would she obey the orders given to her by her Lord, or would she stay with the one she's developing feelings for, the one she admires,

The one she loves?

"This isn't even worth contemplating."

She stood up and immediately made a close of herself, to do exactly what she was there. This clone could not talk or exchange words with anybody and Luz looked at Amity.

She went down and Luz kissed Amity's forehead.

She went through Amity's window and she suddenly appeared in her house.

She looked around carefully and then saw Max.

"You're back! I have good and bad news, which one do you want to hear first?"

Luz rolled her eyes and sat down.

"The bad one first."

Max carried a bunch of paper he had written things down on and showed it to Luz.

"What's this meant to be?"

"I searched everywhere for how TY Fox would be related to any other organisation and then I found a clue."

"In the news, there was TY Fox, he had a scar on both of his palms and on his right eye. That's what an individual, who was attacked by TY Fox said on the news."

"Now, I think I've found a group of rascals who have wounds like his, but I'm not exactly su-"

Luz dropped the paper.

"I know what I'll do about that, what's the good news?"

Max looked at her and smirked.

"We bought cake!"

"Are you being real right now?"

Luz gave a big sigh.

"Where's the cake?"

"It's over there."

Luz went to the kitchen to grab a plate and fork. She went to the table and saw a knife and cut an adequate amount of cake.

"Well, I'll see you later."

Max waved and Luz left the house, immediately going back to Amity's room.

"Oh, she still hasn't woken up."

Luz immediately snapped her finger and the clone disappeared. She dropped the cake somewhere and looked at Amity.

"She looks so beautiful."

Luz's face was slowly going to Amity's. She wanted to kiss her, but on the lips this time.

When her lips were about to touch hers, Amity's body slightly moved and Luz immediately noticed.

She shifted back quickly to her normal position and Amity woke up.

"So close.

Luz looked away with a tint of blush on her face and Amity woke up, sitting down on her bed properly.

Immediately Amity was fully awake, she looked at Luz and her lap, and then Luz again, then to her right, then to Luz.

"Did I sleep on her lap!?"

Amity thought, dying of total embarrassment. She was even about to faint because of all people, Amity Blight?

"I... I thought you were gone."

"Why would I leave when you were sleeping so comfortably on my lap?"

Then Luz coughed a little.

"Hey, I brought a little something."

Luz showed her the cake and she screamed in excitement.

"Red velvet cake!"

Luz moved back in surprise.

"I never knew you liked red velvet, that's my favourite type of cake too."

Luz smiled at her and Amity blushed and looked away.

"Thank you... for staying."

"You're welcome."

In the evening...

The wind slowly comes and goes into the room and Amity started to shiver. Luz didn't notice and kept on thinking about the whole problem, how she was going to settle it for once,

How she was going to leave this realm.

Luz looked at Amity and saw she was shivering more and started to sneeze.

"Amity!" Luz immediately stood up from where she was and grabbed a blanket. She wrapped it around her carefully and closed the windows.

"Are you alright?"

Amity sneezed again.

"What a dumb question I asked. Of course she isn't alright, what should I do?!"

Luz immediately rushed downstairs and searched all the cabinets where medicines where.

She found a couple of Vitamin C in a bottle and grabbed it. She fetched a couple of water and ran upstairs.

As soon as she went upstairs and saw Amity in her room, her eyes was already red and some kind of plants were growing on her hair. This was peculiar and she needed to do something about it.

She gave her the Vitamin C and drank the water slowly, and Luz checked her temperature.

"Amity, you should lie down, I-"

Luz was cut short. She heard her phone ringing and saw it was Zack calling. She picked it up and started to talk.

"Zack? What happened? What went wrong?"

"Anna and I went to the middle of the forest and we think we found a clue. We saw a knife that had a lot of blood on it and it looks like it has been used a lot."

"You can search for us with your magic eyesight right? You should come now, I think we've found more!"

Luz cut the call and sighed.

"Amity, I need to go, I'll meet you la-"

Amity held her wrist and dragged her back.

"No, stay... Please stay."

She had a small voice and looked pitiful. Once again, she was stuck. Not even a clone can fix this problem.

"Oh, fuck this."

Luz dragged the blanket from her and decided to lay on her bed.

She covered both herself and Amity and it was very warm. Amity started to snuggle up and even purred like a cat. Luz smiled and snuggled too.

She sent a quick text to Zack that she won't be there today, but will find it out tomorrow.

Luz sighed.

"This is all going to end eventually, won't it?"
