Chapter 22.

"I'm leaving now, but I'll be back to take them."

Alador held his bag tightly and shut the door out of anger. Odalia was crying the more and looked at Luz.

She held her collar and immediately, she used one of her hand to grab Luz's neck.

Amity started screaming at her mother and beating her hand, to let go of Luz. But instead, she slapped Amity and pushed her away.

Luz rolled her eyes.

"You act as if you are not in pain. I'm sure you are! You're just hi-"

Luz raised an eyebrow.

"Me? In pain?"

"It's like you're not even trying."

"You don't have any good magical or physical abilities. Neither are you good at emotion related things. I'm not surprised that your husband divorced you."

Luz slapped her hand and she immediately let go. After, Luz started laughing and dusted her body.

Amity was perplexed. Her father? Divorced her mother? How? Is that possible?

Luz went close to Amity and whispered something to her,

"I guess you'll have to tell your siblings about the whole divorcing shit between your parents and everything."

Odalia stood there, furious. Her blood was boiling out of total hate and anger for Luz.

"Hey, don't be angry at me. You should be angry at yourself for being so stupid and not thinking about people's feelings."

Luz shook her head and sighed.

She grabbed Amity's hand and started walking upstairs.

"When you're done, leave the house."

Luz glared at her with anger in her eyes and Odalia feared greatly.

As Amity and Luz walked upstairs, Luz looked at Amity which surprisingly, was not saying anything concerning the matter.

"This is strange. Usually, you'd start to talk about how messed up this situation was to me but I'm actually shocked. See you are you're alright?"

Luz looked at her with concern in her eyes. She even stopped moving.

"I'm not saying anything because this was inevitable. I knew this was going to happen sooner or later. For Father to be dealing with all those harsh things from Mother..."

She sighed greatly and told Luz to continue walking upstairs.

She knocked on Edric and Emira's room and they entered.

"Luz... What was happening downstairs? Was it between Mother and-"

"Let me get straight to the point. Odalia and Alador have gotten divorced. Your father is going to be taking all of you and your mother would be alone."

Edric and Emira looked at each other and looked at her.

"Anything else?"

Luz was flabbergasted.

How could they not take something as serious as this? Did they really normalize abuse coming from their mother?

Luz sighed and put her hand on her head.

"I wanted to tell all of you that since it would be hard for your father to be able to earn money since your mother was the "money-maker" of the house, I have decided that I'd help all of you, including your father, with anything financial based."

"So does that mean-"

But Luz cut Emira short.

"No, I will not be buying all of the things you desire but a minimum of it because I know it will satisfy you. As long as you decide to use it for a time and when the item looks weary, you can throw it away."

Emira pouted and looked away, and Luz looked at Amity who was somewhere else.

"Amity, are you opposing my proposal?"

Luz held her hands softly, as Amity turned and looked at her. Luz started at her mesmerising golden eyes and immediately, Amity turned away out of shyness.

"N-no, I don't..." She covered her face and Luz smiled.

Luz removed her hands and clapped. "Well, good to know!"

But she went closer to Amity and whispered something in her ear.

"I'll be waiting for you in your room." She said with a quiet tone and Luz waved and closed the door.

Edric and Emira looked at each other and raised their eyebrows, turning their heads, looking at Amity.

"You and Luz have something going, don't you?" They said at the same time and Amity looked at them.

"N-no!"

She ran out of the room and shut the door.

...

"Mhmm. Everything is going well on my side. Make sure you'd have gotten far by the time I return back home."

"But I'm still suspicious. What if this TY Fox that Harry Locke told me about... isn't even real??"

Max said over the phone and Luz sighed.

"Then I might as well fetch his soul wherever it is and obliterate it."

Max gulped in fear.

"I-i'll investigate more."

"Very good Max! I'll talk to you later, it seems Amity's coming back."

Amity opened the door and immediately, Luz cut the phone call and put her phone in her pocket.

"Were you busy?"

Luz shook her head and told her to sit down close to her.

Amity sat down and gave a hugh sigh.

"Are you sure you aren't sad, Amity? I mean, your parents just got divorced and-"

"It's fine, seriously. I knew something like this was going to happen but for this to happen when I'm still going through a lot of things... I don't even know."

Amity layed her head on her shoulder and Luz's body shook in surprise.

But she slowly relaxed and started to slowly run her hand through Amity's hair.

They both enjoyed that moment, not wanting a single thing to interrupt their alone time.
