Chapter 29.

After a couple of times, Luz had stopped her running and fell down on the floor. Her eyes stopped glowing blue, same for Anna and Zack.

Luz started to groan in serious pain. Anna and Zack jumped from their seats and went to help Luz.

They used every single possible healing spell they knew, but nothing worked. It was as if every single spell they would cast, would make her condition worse.

"Luz, didn't Max tell you not to do this!?"

Zack screamed at her and Luz looked at him.

"It's for the greater good, so we can catch that criminal... You also followed my words..."

Luz coughed blood and looked at her hand. She feared greatly but she knew she couldn't die because she was immortal.

"Could you just carry me to the couch?"

Zack held her by the hand and Anna held her by the leg and slowly put her on the couch.

She continued to cough more and more. Zack and Anna looked at each other and held their hand in hope that nothing could go wrong.

Somebody knocked on the door and Anna stood up to open it.

She saw Amity.

"Amity?"

Luz's eyes opened and she stood up quickly but felt immense pain.

"What are you doing here?" Anna asked in annoyance.

"I just wanted to meet Luz."

Luz stood up and looked at her, eye to eye.

"What do you want, Blight?"

Amity rolled her eyes and came inside even though she wasn't told to.

"You must be really dumb to open all your doors and windows when you know there's a murderer."

Luz felt pain in her ribs and coughed.

"Also, why are you acting sick? Weren't you just fine-"

"Leave."

Luz squeezed her hand. Anna and Zack shifted back.

"It's the fucking audacity to step into my house whereas no one told you to. You come to my house and start to spew shit from your mouth. If you really hate me, why do you even talk to me?"

"It's because of you I'm going through this pain. You told me to do my job and leave this realm."

"Don't worry.." Luz groaned in pain and Anna went to help her.

"I'll be out of your hair soon since I bother you so much. Zack, do me a favor and shut the door in her face so she'll know how it feels like."

Zack did as Luz said and Amity walked away.

Luz sighed and put her hand on her forehead. She was very exhausted and her feelings for Amity stressed her more.

She didn't even know whether she still liked her despite how she cruelly treated her.

Max cleared his throat, still disguised as the Golden Guard.

He looked more into this file and noticed something.

He saw a quick picture of Thomas Fox which was blurry, but he was able to see something. A horn.

"A horn? Demons have that. Could it be that...?"

"No, it possibly can't. There are some beings in this town that has horns but-"

"This person's horns are long, red, longer than anyone's own in this town, even in Hellfire from this current demons to the past ones... Could it be-!?"

"I-it's father."

"Hm, what did you just say?"

Belos asked and Max closed the file and shook his head. Max acted as if someone was calling him and he took the file along with him.

"A good cover-up that was, Hunter."

Max looked back in feat and saw Belos crossing his legs, reading his book.

When Max left there, he immediately turned invisible and teleported back to the front of his house.

He became visible again and opened the door.

"You guys, i-"

Anna, Zack and Luz looked at him and they shifted back.

"Who are you? Are you the murderer!?"

Max went to the window to look at his reflection and saw he hadn't change back.

He immediately did so and convinced them it was Max and they all believed.

He gave the file to the both of them and immediately went to Luz.

"Is Luz alright?"

Anna shook her head.

"By anything, she's worse than before when she did this exact same thing in another realm."

His eyes widened and when he tried casting a healing spell, Anna out her hand on his shoulder and shook her head.

Tears started falling from his eyes as if Luz was already dead or Luz was gone, even though she wasn't. He didn't want this to happen and she had promised him.

I guess all promises aren't fulfilled.

"Wait a minute. Isn't this Luz's father?"

Luz opened her eyes and snatched the file from Zack's hands in an instant. She skimmed through it and what Zack said wasn't a lie.

Luz's father went under the alias of Thomas Fox. Nobody truly knew his real name, not even the other demons, not even Luz nor Max.

"I thought they beheaded each other. Are you telling me that he got hea-"

Luz started coughing.

She breathed in and out heavily and dropped the file.

"I also heard that he's going to do his killing spree immediately it's 12. You still aren't going right? Your body is basically-"

"What's the time?"

Luz asked and Zack said it was 12 o'clock already.

Luz went to the door and got her position ready.

"Luz, you can't do this!"

"I have to. Don't you want to see him? We also need an explanation from him too."

Luz breathed in and released it after 5 seconds.

She raised up her body and left the house immediately.

She was running around town and after some time, she saw someone with a black hoodie, coming up from the sky.

The person came down, obstructing her.

"Who are you?"

The person didn't reply.

The person removed the hoodie and Luz's eyes widened. He hugged Luz and Luz was still in shock.

Only one word was uttered from her mouth, nothing else came out.

"Father?"
