"Well, this looks like the spot he was talking about." I said. "Open field next to the forest with the big boulders."

"Alright, we should stake it out, then."

It was the dead of night now, with a nice, cool breeze that had blown away a lot of the afternoon heat, and now, we were camping, about a mile or so away from the mine shafts, which were now sitting quietly in the nighttime air. So far there was nothing out here, and that was starting to make me really nervous.

"God, should we just hide instead of just staking out where everyone can see us?" I said.

"Well, hide where?"

"Not sure. Should we just hide amidst the trees over here?"

"I think so."

The wind picked up as we both hid in the covers of some brambles and bushes, trying not to get stuck by the thorns, and, while in the cover of the bushes, I tried to listen out for any noises around us. Up until this point, there wasn't much, but suddenly, Finana tapped my arm and pointed through the bushes.

"Look, right over there."

I stared through the break in the brambles, and I saw a set of lanterns, along with a few Goblins in tattered leather armor, and, coming along with them was a very, very large and angry looking dog, which I recognized as the Worg. As they were coming through the tree line, Finana grabbed onto my arm to steady me, and I watched as she held her glaive at the ready, prepared to strike at a moments notice.

"Let them pass us." She said. "Trust me."

I stayed still for the moment, but, as the Goblins were passing in front of us, I stepped backwards, and a twig snapped, extremely loudly. Instantly, all of the Goblins snapped looks right at us, and I nearly swallowed my tongue.

"Well, here goes nothing!!" I yelled, climbing out from the brambles. "COME AT US!!!"

The Worg stared straight at me, completely unimpressed, but, to my surprise, the thing opened to mouth, not to roar, but to speak.

"Kill them!!!" The Worg yelled in a horrible, gruff voice. "They've come for the blacksmith!!"

Two of the Goblins rushed forward, but before I could even react, Finana rushed past me and attempted a nasty swing with the glaive, but both of the little Goblins dodged out of the way as the rest of them retreated. We had to make this quick. I grabbed the Goblin on the left, the one closest to me, and I brought my knife in a wicked stab, straight into the Goblins belly. It cried out in pain, then, with its scimitar, tried to swing at me, but I grabbed it by the wrist and flung it away. I heard a grunt to my left, and I shot a look over my face as Finana dodged another strike from the Goblin, then, she backed up, opened her tome with her free hand and pointed straight at the Goblins.

"THUNDERWAVE!!!!" She screamed.

Instantly, there was a massive burst of energy, lightning and wind from her hand. And, with a stroke of amazing luck, both of the Goblins were absolutely annihilated by the thunderous wave. Their broken, limp bodies crashed against the trees, and they flopped to the ground motionless.

"My god, that was awesome!!!" I said, giving her a pat on the arm.

She gave me a tired smile, then turned to where the Worg had run off to, and while there were tracks leading through the woods, there was no sign of the Worg, or the Goblins for that matter. It was just far too dark, and the Goblins had been smart enough to douse their lanterns so that we couldn't track them easily.

"Well, lets follow the tracks." I said. "They couldn't have gotten far."

"Wait before we go!"
